Some advise I wish I had 20 years ago.

No, this is not a LinkedIn cheat sheet. Although the book holds many practical things to improve what and how you do things, it slowly transitions more into the executive level. The audience is broad and you may skip some parts you already know, but that does not bring less value to the book. Practical. Interesting. Advice I should have had 20 years ago.

Tons of actionable advice

The author filed this book South actionable advice. I love the brevity of the sections/chapters—it never feels like an overwhelming read despite being packed with useful information. The chapters are easy to digest and straight to the point. This is ideal for consuming a small amount of info then stopping to take notes or think about how you will tailor the actionable advice specifically to your career.

“It matters where you’re seen” and “Get comfortable with data analysis and storytelling as it is the language of leaders # <— in my own words…This is game changing, strategic advice. I also loved the differentiation between virtual and in office tactics—they will look differently.

I recommend this to everyone—as a time sensitive refresher if you’re in a senior position or just starting a new role. It’s also great for those at the start of their career and those who are pivoting into corporate careers. For sure, if you’re experiencing career stagnation, get this book—at a minimum it will cause you to start thinking through strategic moves you can make to remedy stagnation and go on to thrive. Loved it.

Tips for the quiet ones

This book is full of great tips and actions to improve presence, but really digs in on how introverts and the quiet ones can improve, while still being themselves. I appreciate everything she has shared to help make us shine.
