This is a solid Great Courses book which provides the basic concepts through which the banking industry works. Day then reaches back to the Great Depression and shows the pros and cons of government intervention and how that intervention actually makes the next crisis more likely. This book will give you some insight into an important industry.

She sounds like a brainwashed bank-advertisement - no room for differing perspectives or the horrible nature of money printing or how bailing out banks gives bad precedent and is only needed because the banks decided to sell more seats than they actually have, or how money isn't just a collective delusion, but like any other instrument, their properties define the usage, or how inflation is related to the cheaply created new supply of money (and she thinks Bitcoin is created by criminals to hide the transactions - yeah, that's why it has a public ledger...)
