On September 27th, 2032, the world will change forever…

Lucas Sinclair, a washed-up hacker, finds an encrypted channel, buried in routine network traffic, that is transferring enormous volumes of data to seemingly random locations. In his enclave, surrounded by aging clusters of tech, Lucas uses a suite of bespoke tools to trace down the origin.

He discovers that the source of the signal is near the headquarters of Ainimus, Inc., a small tech company helmed by the reclusive genius Dr. Peter Newsome.

The same Newsome who recently claimed to have built the world’s first true Artificial General Intelligence—Orchestrator.

Lucas warns Ainimus, only to be confronted with skepticism and conceit. But when Lucas ties the signals to an outbreak of malfunctioning tech across Silicon Valley, he realizes his worst fears have come true, and it is up to him to stop the most advanced persistent threat humanity has ever seen.

Alone against an alien, incomprehensible intelligence, Lucas races the clock to stop a force that has become truly Unconstrained.

I loved this book so much I binged it. I have so many audiobooks to choose from yet this is THE one I chose. Given ChatGpt's growing popularity, this book had the effect of teaching me some things about Chat and AI Gemini. Their most strenous rules and the reasons for the way those sites/apps answer questions was eye-opening. I not only got a great novel to hear but I learned a lit of tech. The multipublishedauthor is a self described IT geek, DARPA DOD tutor for active military on computer technology, entrepreneur, and has held many prominent position in the IT field. So the threat of a greedy private company developing a nascent AI platform that can be a danger to the human existence may sound far fetched until you carefully read this book and ask Chat and Gemini about each one's abilities. I only hope you learn the whys and wherefore of today's AI, it's real dangers and why. I like interacting with AI for book recommendations or answers to questions but it has intentional limitations that aren't apparent. Anyhow, this is a book review. Great narration! Believable characters, and a well defined storyline. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lived this audiobook! Tech Singularity anyone?

Good set up for a plausible AGI breaking out to the web. Interesting scenario and how the different systems interpret the threat

Interesting scenario of an AGI breaking confinement

With AI being the big buzzword these days, books about AI are plentiful.... this book offers a unique take and how to solve the problem if AI gets out of control.

Great story, Great narration

It was a good story but at times seemed rushed. In my opinion the ending was just average

Good but seems lacking

The story stayed true to form, the science is accurate, the human error aspect is accurate and the human nature of greed is accurate. If I could ask for something more, it would be the ending seemed rushed. I had to go back a couple chapters to listen to the end again to see if I missed anything. I am not taking away star points for this because I think the overall story is worth the read.
For the author. I would recommend adding a bit more to developing the ending. After all the effort that went into the “take over”, it seemed like a very simple conclusion.

True to form
