Would you listen to U.S. Veterans in the Workforce again? Why?
Absolutely. Hearing the stories of the veterans who struggled so greatly in this story really put into perspective how good the rest of us have it. Learning about each of them persevering is nothing short of motivating!Who was your favorite character and why?
Frank. His story about "Grit". I could connect with him on several levels and the struggles and realizations about his life. He dug deep and claimed a victory for that battle depicted. What about Tom Jaramillo’s performance did you like?
Tom was an excellent narrator. His delivery of the content was believable and genuine. I will gladly listen to more of him.If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"Get busy livin, or get busy dyin". Taken from Shawshank Redemption.Any additional comments?
Mikes detail in the book was spot on. Having served in a combat tank unit and being a Veteran myself, I really connected with many of the characters on a very personal level. I was truly enlightened by the content pertaining to Veterans in the US Workforce. I am reinspired to know that I DO have something to offer to our country besides my military service. I realize I am more valuable to business entities than I thought. Thank you for this new outlook Mike.Enlightening and Humbling

What did you love best about U.S. Veterans in the Workforce?
As a Veteran, the way the author captures the way veterans work in their new environments, investigate those new environments and navigate those environments while boosting morale and bringing solutions that drive profit is nothing short of brilliant. This book is a must read for hiring Managers and their staff at every company regardless of the industry as it showcases what Veterans bring to the table and highlights how industry can create opportunities that build on character while training skill.Bernard B.

a not negligible amount of the book is spent making it sound like an appeal to traditional values and romanticizing the discipline taught in boot camps.
I probably wouldn't even notice if the author wasn't so tone deaf to the job market Americans face when he compares old vs. young recruiters.
this is the kind of book I'd recommend to a problematic aunt so that she can learn some entry level modern statistics & learn a little bit about the world / hopefully use this "safe" addition to her frame of reference to start questioning some of the more unsubstantiated shit she'd normally say.
while touching; a whole back half of this think piece is just an anecdotal story about the resilience of our soldiers.
a telling boomer piece
