Another fun adventure

I'm enjoying the progression of all the characters. As with many things in aviation, I came for the airplanes and I'm learning to stay for the people.

What's becoming a big highlight for me with these books is the opening story. There's always a fun and realistically grounded flying adventure.

A criticism with the performance is that there is not much distinction between the different character voices. There came a point near the end of the book where I had to stop and replay some of the book and pay close attention to figure out who was talking. This seemed to be more difficult when a female character was talking, and especially when multiple female characters were involved at the same time.

With that minor critique aside, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Good story; annoying narration

Story is great and keeps you interested. I have always thought Scott Brick was a great narrator but I think his performance here was way too melodramatic. However, it did not stop me from listening to the entire book.

Disappointing

The reader is angry the entire book. Over the top, incessantly angry to the point I had to stop listening to it. Yes, we get it, Luke is mad at his father, but hour after hour of him making snide comments, sarcasm, and general meanness got really old. Also, while I like that the author is conversant in aviation (the main reason I started this series), he attempts to pretend he knows guns. He does not. Using a Colt Python in the scenario he does is silly (book 1 or 2), and telling the gun store owner (book 3) he needs an "extra magazine" and the gun store then saying "I'll see what I can find". Sigs come with two, and every gun store has many options for sale. Also, I double dare you to find any gun store that has "9 MM blanks" just sitting out for sale. Sure dude.
