Resumen del Editor

Jake Hines is a stubborn detective with a murky past now living outside Minneapolis where the city meets the prairie. He’s a little out of place in a place where the winters are long and the men are rugged, but he’s got more to worry about than just fitting in. There’s a serial killer on the loose leaving behind three murders, two suspects and a lot of unanswered questions.

One victim was found laying on home plate in a neighborhood softball diamond, another was found disfigured and wearing an old softball uniform. Forced to deal with some high-tech crime busters eager to track down the psycho, and a beautiful crime scene photographer, Jake feels the killer pulling them toward another murder, another suspect, and a very bitter truth....

Really fun who done it!

Had never heard of Elizabeth Gunn until her book " Cool in Tucson" was recommended to me during a recent visit to Rancho La Puerta in Mexico, however Audible doesn't carry that title. Being a Tucson resident, I was still curious about Elizabeth Gunn, a local Tucson resident herself. Audible carries 4 other titles by Elizabeth Gunn, including this one, Triple Play, and the 3 subsequent titles in the Jake Hines series, so I listened to Triple Play and really enjoyed it! Elizabeth Gunn didn't start writing until age 70, when she retired in Tucson. A Google search about her revealed a fascinating background and her writing style is impressive for someone who didn't start writing until she was very mature. I love her characters, her humor and sarcasm, her knowledge of police procedures (my son is a Sheriff's leitenant), her excellent grasp of cultural slang, and her fun storyline. I have since downloaded and listened to 2 more of her Jake Hines stories. Police detective stories are not normally my preferred genre, but Gunn makes them so fun and Ron Varela is the perfect narrator! Varela can manage so many characters, inflections, moods, tones. He's awesome. Of note, I've been househunting and recently purchased a home in a different part of Tucson. Turns out the house belonged to Gunn, who has relocated in her 90's to another state to be close to family. I didn't know the house I bought had been hers until after I'd put on offer on it. Is that bizarre, OR WHAT?
