Unlike priests of other faiths who offered sacrifices of animals and other men to the gods, Christ offered himself as the sacrifice that would save all mankind. While Archbishop Sheen doesn’t ask the priest to sacrifice his earthly life, he does ask him to sacrifice his entire soul to Christ on the Cross in every Mass and his entire body to Christ with the breaking of bread.

I was inspired to to read this book after hearing it cited I several homilies. Seeing it available as an audiobook I have listened to 4 additional times .. Chapters 20 and 21 are must study areas as redemptive suffering is brought to the shallow end of theological instruction; something we often hear of, but seldom hear a relatable explanation of ..

This is the best autobiography I've ever heard. Truly inspiring. His chapter on celibacy is the best, clearest, most concise explanation on the subject I've ever heard. This book helps me in my Faith life in so many ways.
