The story was very good. I certainly did not think it would go in the direction that it did. Very creative

Beautiful bitter-sweet love story

Falling in love with one but losing her and living a full life with another woman, all along longing for the one you lost. And then, when the life you ended up living is at its final chapters, meeting the love of your life again. I hope that’s not a spoiler. Lol

If you need to slow things down

This is a good book for slowing you pace for awhile. It has a steady but sedate pace. The plot is low-key, but interesting in many ways. It’s not boring, but not suspenseful, either. It’s good for a quiet read.

Slow and predictable

It was so slow and became predictable and boring to me.
I can see, however where others would very much enjoy this book.

But about the terrible treatment of survivors of Hiroshima. Loved the complexity/simplicity of the story.
