Her relief over being rescued is short-lived when she learns that her master is still lost, along with the tomes detailing how to reseal and fix all the upcoming problems for the next decade. And at least four world disasters are due to be prevented in the next two months.

To make matters worse, the Tomes Masters are the only people in the world who carry the knowledge of how to reseal the pesky problems like 5,000-year-old sleeping demons and disintegrating harbor walls.

With her master gone, everyone is looking to Mei Li for answers she doesn’t have, but still has to procure. Her options are to solve the disasters—with high potential for the world ending—or somehow find her master and the missing tomes.

Right now, Mei Li wants to go back in time and punch her six-year-old self for being an idiot. Being able to read books all day is not worth the stress of dealing with ancient, evil things on a regular basis.

loved it

I absolutely love this book. I own it and paper back. But it says it shut up and audible. I immediately purchased it again. I love this series and I love this author. The main character keeps my interest and There is a whole side cast of lovable characters.

Unique storyline and inventive characters are developed here. The narrator was very good with great inflection.

Just Lovely!

I LOVE this book! The narrator has a lovely and captivating voice conveying emotions and everything else with ease. The book itself made me and my kids laugh quite often as well! I love this without she builds such wondrous, loveable, and relatable characters and worlds. This is my third series I’ve read of hers and I haven’t been disappointed yet!
I love Mei Li and her world and can’t wait to read more! This is definitely a book that will make it to my re-listen list I can just tell.

Great read

This book made me feel good! It's a great adventure and nothing more. The characters are likable.

Couldn't Finish

This was one of the very few books I just couldn't finish. The narration was not my cup of tea, there also was an odd change in voice for the dragons which really took me out of the story. As for the story, hours in and very little happened. Very disappointed after reading overall positive reviews. I'm happy others enjoyed it but I found every aspect of this book an enormous let down.
