The woman is famous for killing the most destructive rogue witch of the century, and no one is quite certain where she’s from. Every officer in the precinct is either in awe of her, or a little frightened by her. Henri is just baffled. What is he supposed to do with a partner?

Hopefully, killing one witch makes Jamie Edwards enough of an expert on magic to be helpful, as the thieves aren’t content to just break into one building. They, in fact, seem to have an agenda - as with each theft, they take magical objects. It’s all mounting to a dangerously powerful, magical construct, capable of toppling the wards on any building.

And no one has any idea what the thieves true target is.

Creative world building

The story was a fun listen and the narrators did a great job with the characters.

Great Steampunk series!

Witty and well written series. Likable and amusing characters. Enjoyed the narrators who voiced the characters. Looking forward to the rest of the books on Audible.

Love the story! Fantastic acting by narrators.

I had read this story on Kindle and bought the audible version because I was going on a road trip with family. This was an excellent choice as both narrators brought the characters to life. Excellent pacing.

Magic, mystery, and personality!

I had a hard time putting this story down. The characters just seem to bloom on the page. I loved every minute!

Great series

Love the world building. My only complaint is that the Female MC has to explain a lot of earth culture to Dr Davenforth, but then he will use idioms or proverbs that are typical in earth culture. Hope they continue with the series on Audible. I’ve read all the books. The narrators do a wonderful job.

fun times in a magical world

light and fun adventure in a nice steampunk magical world. I like the author's handling of the alternate world, but that would be a spoiler to share.

Wonderful

I loved this mystery series. The narrators were great and made the book come to life. They both put a lot effort into it and I did not have a complaint or a suggestion that could have made it any better. The author wrote a great plot and wonderful characters. This will be a series a listen to many times. I hope the rest of the audiobooks in the series come quickly so I can get them.

This is a wonderful book. I had so much fun listening to it. I have already bought the 2ed one and will start with it as soon as possible.

Riveting

I loved the storyline with somebody from our world on another world that has magic. Ms Rconteur has created wonderful characters and the storyteller has performed beautifully to bring them to life.
