This book!

I love Sarah J. Maas and the relationship she builds between characters. She has a wonderful writing style! I read ACOTAR before reading this series and I just love the way she wrote!! It’s so easy to read and nothing ever gets boring with her!!

Great story, terrible voices.

I love these books and their story. The reader read well,but some of their voices for characters were not to well done. A squeaky British accent for a giant hulking tribesman from the mountains seems like an odd and distracting choice.

Parts were difficult

I got a little annoyed with our heroine at points. I know that she has a background that makes her the way she is but she’s supposed to be this badass killer and the most feared assassin in the land but she comes off a bit soft and needy, a little whiny, to suppose to be this scary person. Felt a little hard to connect.

Too hard on this wonderful book

People are way too hard on this book. First off, she is a teenager! She never really got to live her childhood. Just because she is an assassin doesn't mean she still isnt a little girl. I think the narrator did a good job overall. The MC was very condescending so to read her like she is rolling her eyes and bored is very good. The first book like any TV show is like the plot episodes and you are going to see every character grow. People need to remember she is more than just an assassin she is a young girl trying to figure out life. She was always told what to do and did very little thinking of her own. Then someone great comes to her and tells her she must use her mind and is responsible for the happiness of others is a huge weight no matter who you are. I think this book is powerful. I read it when it first came out and I am re-reading it now. I feel now that im older I understand everything she is going through more.

Better reader needed

I love Maas' books but didn't love this reader. parts that should have been exciting were lack luster and I really had to focus hard on the story to enjoy it. the reader has a pleasant voice but it just didn't fit the story.

Great book! Easy listen

I loved the story, the only pinch of a criticism would be not loving the voices for some characters- Chaol’s voice just didn’t seem right in the way the story portrayed him. Idk. Small complaint but overall LOVED the story and performance

Loved the reader, the voices, the storytelling, the pacing and the world building, well worth the read.

Great Series

I really enjoy this series and the progression. The character development is good and the plot twists appropriately. The pacing is good and builds well. The characters are likeable and the unlikable ones are fitting.

Great story!

Took about 1/3 of the book to hook me. I love the author and normally I really like this narrator but the voice she uses on Dorian is really annoying. I'll buy the next one though.

Excellent Story/Terrible Narration

Though this story was less action packed than I expected, it was an excellent story. The narration was less than stellar, and nearly ruined the book for me.
