Resumen del Editor

Think and Grow Rich is a motivational personal development and self-help book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want. For instance, Jim Murray (a sportswriter) wrote that Think and Grow Rich was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.

The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, Think and Grow Rich had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books - a perennial best-seller after 70 years (BusinessWeek's best-seller list ranked Think and Grow Rich as the sixth best-selling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published). Think and Grow Rich is listed in John C. Maxwell's A Lifetime Must Read Books List.

Unbearable reading

Love this book, can't stand this narration. Puts me to sleep, hard to understand. Think and Grow Rich is a classic, but make sure the narrator is someone you can listen to.

Narration Is Horrible

If you could sum up Think and Grow Rich in three words, what would they be?

This version is 13 hrs long. 3-4 hrs longer than the other versions. I think the only reason is because Henderson reads so slow and pauses so much. I'm returning it and getting a version with a different narrator

timeless self-improvement, slightly dated perspec

Any additional comments?

"How to Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill is one of the all time best selling self improvement books, but it was written right after the great depression. You will notice how dated it sounds, and certain parts almost don't apply. On the other hand, THIS IS a fucking BIBLE in self improvement. It is not short, but some of the stuff is timeless. This was my first listen a couple months ago, and totally got me in the mind frame of, "Ok.. Lets fucking do this." ... It really is if you have a LOT of time to listen (like I did stocking shelves), but good stuff can be gleaned even if you listen to parts. (delivery style: old school) ★★★

Incredible Book, Not What I Expected But Better!

Excellent & insightful regarding character insight and habit awareness. The 'ether' topic was most valuable.

Reading so bad I couldn't concentrate on the book

Would you consider the audio edition of Think and Grow Rich to be better than the print version?

God, NO!

What other book might you compare Think and Grow Rich to and why?

I don't know. The narration is so annoying that I doubt I'll go on. I'll just the book out the library.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

As other reviewers have noted, he ... pauses multiple ... times in a .... sentence ... where ... clearly no ... punctuation is intended. And his diction is terribly sloppy, barely intelligible at moments, although he is reads soooo sloooowly that at first I thought I was somehow playing the audiobook at the wrong speed. This is sad, because the tone of his voice is beautiful. With some coaching, he might be an excellent narrator.

Any additional comments?

After a couple of audiobooks with annoying readers, I think I will start paying better attention to what the reviewers say before I invest. I suggest that Audible start listening to these recordings before offering them for sale. Most of the ones I've bought are very high quality, but THIS one? Frankly, I've downloaded better for free from Archive.

Very Dated

It is quite dated. Some of the references are shocking out of the context in which they were originally written. I'd be interested to see this book updated for the modern era.

most annoying mouth noises

If you could sum up Think and Grow Rich in three words, what would they be?

i couldnt get past the first 10 mn. This narrator can't control his tongue. after every pause or sentence, he makes that gross annoying noise that people make when they chew with their mouth open. he was either missing a foam pad over the mic or he ate poison ivy and his tongue was too big for his mouth to control.I'm hoping this book has another version with a different narrator cuz i will buy it, i'm just counting the money spent on this one as a loss.

What other book might you compare Think and Grow Rich to and why?

amazing book, just needs a narrator who doesnt lick his lips between every sentence.

How could the performance have been better?

see above
