A BRAND-NEW totally addictive psychological thriller with a twist you won’t see coming.

Just when I thought I’d got my life back together, a handsome stranger moves in across the street. He says he lost his wife six months ago. He says he’s here for a fresh start. But I think he might be a killer.

Three months ago, a serial killer tore through our perfect little community. But he’s dead now, and I’m doing my best to pretend everything’s normal — pot roasts, Pilates, and that my stepson TJ didn’t upend our lives the minute he arrived.

That was before the new neighbour moved in.

Damian Mankiewicz is a good-looking, friendly, charming widower. But there’s something off about him. The box in his hallway marked Do Not Open. The house he bought — the one where a girl was found murdered. And the way he always seems to be watching.

When a local teenager goes missing, the whispers start all over again. About TJ. About me. About what really happened here.

I’ve already been through hell once. I’m not doing it again. If the widower is hiding something, I’ll find out — before someone else disappears for good.

A jaw-dropping thriller about secrets, suspicion, and the dark side of suburbia. Welcome to The Estates.

Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Daniel Hurst, Valerie Keogh and T.M. Logan.

This was good for killing some time. Interesting story. I enjoyed it! I think you should download it if you need a story while you’re on a road trip or cleaning the house. But there were just too many things in there that wouldn’t even be reasonable in real life. An example is from the beginning of the book. The main character describes her best friend pretty much is someone she doesn’t even like. At all. Why not just make her a neighbor instead of a “best friend “

There were too many things that were just not reasonable/believable

It was nice to get a continuation of The Stepson but please, no more! The main character was quirky in the first book and became increasingly annoying in this book. The story was a bit predictable at times but still held a surprise or two at the end. The narrator is good, really putting emotion into the reading but be forewarned, there are a couple of words she repeatedly mispronounces and it may grate on your nerves the way it did on mine.

Pretty enjoyable for a free listen

This book book is a bit slow to start and drags a bit. The twists are interesting and ones you do not see coming! Overall a fun read.

Great narrator!

I usually use these as palette cleaners or background noise so I don’t waste my wishlist books so my expectations weren’t high. I had to DNF this one though as it was miles lower than the other mediocre storiesin this camp. I can’t follow the weak protagonist. It came off as the author avoiding the challenge of writing the confrontational dialogue rather than an intentional character personality. There was also very shallow descriptions that have nothing to do with the plot.. “priceless art” in the hallway? Really? I think a dual perspective could have helped and maybe there is one later in the boook but I just can’t endure. My mornings deserve better.

Kinda … Lazy?!

The end of the story. It would have been nice for the police to get involved again...ending in the interview from Marni's hospital bed.

The descriptive way in which the story was written...visually compelling.
