Great book! He gives you clear instructions on how to get out of debt. Good motivation for people who don't know where to start. Well worth the credit!

What three words best describe Dave Ramsey’s voice?

I like Dave's voice, but in this recording he seems to be yelling at me and talking down to me. It made it hard to listen to and was quite distracting.

Do you have debt?

Great book showing a simple, common sense, approach to getting free of debt. It's not easy. You'll have to sacrifice and live like nobody else but end the end you will be able to LIVE like nobody else!

Un-common sense...

I ran across Dave on the radio during a late night trip 40 miles to the bank to put some money in there... how appropriate was that?? I started listening to the radio show, and then read the book. It's changed our outlook on a few things. Based on common sense, doing the right thing (don't ask Dave how to weasel out of a debt you legitimately owe and have the ability to pay...), caring and the "heart of a teacher", this book shows you in graphic detail out to win long term. It's not for everyone though, many simply won't sacrifice now to prosper later... they don't get it and might never. But if you're willing to do the beans & rice and rice & beans for a while, later you get to live a real life without using plastic for everything. Now I'm giving an audiobook version to a friend who doesn't enjoy reading.

Great Advice!

I was sceptical about this book, but was I wrong! At first I was a little unsure, but as the book continued, showing the ways to eliminate debt, I was completely engrossed and have now started my "Total Money Makeover". Simple guidlines and advice combined with real world examples, make this book a must for anyone battling to get out of the debt trap!

Great Advice

I knew about snowballing debt but I didn't know where to tie in the savings, house, and retirement. I am working on selling this to my wife and listening to the book again. I am currently working on these steps from this book. I enjoyed the biblical references.

Awesome book. Dave's principles are common sense and easy to follow. When you follow these principles the recession is no big deal.

Great advice. I am an avid reader of self-help financial planning books, yet I still found this book refreshingly new. I liked the no nonsense approach, the step-by-step plan, and the individual stories. But what I liked most was the fact that it was integrated with teachings that are consistent with my own religious beliefs -- it wasn't just cut and dried, by the numbers financial planning and debt reduction! I am definitely sharing this book with friends and family who can benefit from this perspective on financial self-help.

This book changed my family tree!

This book is absolutely wonderful! It doesn't teach any ground breaking new theories; it just teaches you to get back to the basics. If the methods in this book are followed from a young age, you will become a millionaire every time!

This book has changed my life, bettered my marriage and has changed many others lives as well.

I have personally purchased over 10 hard copies of this book and given it out to friends. Without fail, each one has said that they loved it!

A must listen!

This is an excellent audiobook for anybody who is serious about getting ahead financially. It has opened my eyes to many things that are just common sense, but many times we dont realize. This book and the time you spend listening to it is a very good investment of your time/money - you wont regret it.
