Could’ve done without the politics...

I liked the characters, but I felt this one was pushing a political agenda. I wanted to tell the characters, “You know you’re going to regret fawning all over that arrogant, divisive man just because of his race.” Those who are aware will understand.

Enjoying this series!!!

So far of all the books that I’ve listened to in this series, I found the speech patterns/cadence of the primary performer tiresome….how some performers can successfully speak in a natural manner and others well….just don’t is the luck if the draw! I will sometimes listen to some stories based on the performer…..

Wasn’t So Sure

Listening to the first several chapters, I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue. Since the other books were so good I continued. Glad I did! I cried at the ending.

Wonderful with a lovely ending

I read reviews that this book was “predictable” and “cliche.” I DISAGREE whole heartedly! I thought it was wonderful. Like all the stories in this series the author takes the reader/listener around the world and weaves a family history story in the processes. She touches on subjects that are poignant and deserve to have light shed on them. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and will continue to enjoy books by this lovely storyteller.

My favorite

This installment has been my favorite in the series! Great writing and super performance. On to the next on in the series.

A story for our time

I loved this book. I could relate to Electra’s story even though it was worlds away from anything I have ever experienced. I was recommended the series by a friend and accidentally downloaded book six instead of book one so now I will go back and read (listen too 😃) the rest of the series in the right order. Lucinda Riley is a brilliant writer and in The Sun Sister we get two stories for the price of one 😃

Change of heart

This story amazed me. I didn’t like the main character at all in the beginning. She was extremely unlikable. But she changed and I ended up liking her. Some odd choices the author made. Having a main character decide to leave the country and her business and her child and grandchild and never come back was extremely out of character. It was as also odd how she could so easily leave one life which she had built for another a continent away. Weird. Seemed like author was done with her. Another character who is very important at the beginning seems to just disappear into the woodwork. Also, HATE being preached to. That happens several times. That’s why I didn’t give it five stars.

While this is a bit different than the others once again I was truly unable to put this book down
