Ew, ew-er, ew-est

This book definitely hit harder as an audiobook. It's so different reading gross as opposed to hearing gross. (I kept mugging my poor Bluetooth speaker as if it were an offending object.) The synopsis for this is fairly brief so I really had no idea what I was in for. I found out. I found out quickly.

You get about 10 minutes before the ew starts and then it's just ew for the rest of the book. I have a pretty strong stomach but there were quite a few parts that had me feeling as if I'd turned green. He definitely brought the gross for this book. Also a social reminder not to be a douche to people who make your food.

I sometimes have difficulty with accented narrators (I'm American) but I didn't have any problems understanding this one. He did quite a fine job.

Food poisoned body horror

Genuinely turned my stomach numerous times, McCluskey is great at describing bodily fluids that aren’t just ‘not right’, but severely *wrong.*

Moral of the story: Be nice to people who make your food! 😚

Damn!! This is quite a story!! I don’t hear very much about this book, but man is it a whopper of a story!!
It’s extremely disgusting and the imagery made me feel like I was watching it all on a big screen!
But, on top of the grossness, this is a very entertaining and mildly humorous story. It’s very intense and exciting and definitely makes me want to look at my food carefully!

I listened to the audio and the narrator did a good job. I got to sit back and just listen to the intensity of the book!

If D.E. McCluskey writes it, it goes on my list to read it!!

Incredibly graphic and disturbing. loved it !

D.E and the narrator did a incredible job. I was all ears. The descriptions were so unsettling and chilling throughout the book. It's impossible not be immersed in this gripping disturbing read and D.E is a master of his craft and damn good at being nasty with it lol 🤣.

Short, scary read

The details in this book are VERY in-depth and descriptive in a way I don’t normally hear or read from other authors. It’s a great short story that will definitely make you think twice about going out to eat and more importantly, how you treat your servers. If you have a weak stomach, this may not be the book for you, but if you can handle gore, then THIS IS THE ONE! Need to kill time on a flight or airport layover, working out, etc then it’s a fantastic short story! Great job, DEMc!!!
