Resumen del Editor

WARNING: The following story contains mature themes, strong language, and sexual situations. It is intended for listeners 18+ older.

She's scarred by her past.

Andrea Evans is traumatized and guilt-ridden by the death of her fiancée. Tired of the gossiping small town, she travels to New York City to pursue her dream of dance. He's uncertain of his future.

Cooper Davidson is a famous photographer and reality television star trying to flee from his own life filled with paparazzi, mental health clinics, and a cheating wife who is pregnant.

When Andrea and Cooper's paths cross, they realize how damaged and in need of escapism they both are. The two create an arrangement to explore the space in between chaos and order with one another. The rules are simple - no emotional connections, no talking about the past, no speaking of the future, and when one finds order, the other walks away. All is well until Cooper accidentally falls in love with Andrea.

Eh... Not one of her best

Brittainy Cherry can write amazing works of art, but I’m sad to say this wasn’t one of them. The female narrator makes it so much worse. I am sorry to say I couldn’t finish the audio.

All the Feels

What really got me about this book was how completely broken both of these characters are. Its not perfect at all and Cooper and Andrea make a ton of mistakes. But I think that's what made them feel so human. They were spiraling and they held onto each other for life. Its safe to say they found solace in each other for all the wrong reasons and probably needed to figure out their own stuff before hooking up. But not sure how many people actually take that advice. There were moments between then when things were good and there was a light at the end of their dark tunnel. Them getting past their pain and learning to let all the baggage go would lead to a possibly great relationship between them. No what I didn't care for was the way they took jabs at each other or how Andreas family treated her friend because she was black. Everyone knew it was wrong, including Andrea and she never stepping in when her mother said some foul stuff. Kate and Brian were great.

Not a favorite and I like the author

Would you listen to The Space in Between again? Why?

No. The story line is just not what I expected. The characters are not well developed and the story line is a bit all over the place. The difficulties that each character face are not special and seem to be overcome to quickly. The story almost seems too rushed.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It really starts with the story. It's so rushed and without the character development it just falls flat.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending, since it was over.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is a moment when the female lead breaks down at her loss. It's nothing spectacular though, but caused me to continue the read in case it turned around.

Any additional comments?

I love this author's other reads but this is not a favorite. I will purchase a Kindle version if I like the audio enough, since I do reread. This is not one that made it to a Kindle version.

Freaking Amazing

I expect nothing less than phenomenal when I read a Brittainy C Cherry book and this was no different. it captivated me from the first page. Brittainy's books seem to draw me in emotional like no other author have.

This is a story of fight. Emotional rollercoaster. Then overcoming tragedy. loved it hard.

Loved the characters, but not the story.

Great characters, but the story had too many gaps in it. Trying to keep who was connected to whom whose secrets were connected. I love Brittainy Cherry’s work. This just wasn’t up to her usual standards.

Another win for Brittainy

I’m starting to see a pattern with Brittainy’s books. In most of them there are dead-beat dads who either are drug addicts, abusive, or alcoholics. I am wondering if she has had to deal with that in her life? Regardless, she always writes about broken people who deal with so much. Her books are not always easy to read because they pull at your heartstrings. Yes, they mostly have happy endings, but the journey to get there is not an easy task. I suppose that is what it is like in real life. Loved ones die, fathers leave, partners cheat, and hearts are broken, but love can conquer some of those hurts. This is why I love reading her stories because there’s always hope because no matter how bad things get, you can still have a happy ending to your life.

This wasn’t my favorite of all her books, but it was still good and the narrators did a pretty good job with their performances.

Couldn’t finish

The female reader was so distracted that I couldn’t finish. I cringed when she read the sex part. I gave four stars for Brian and he is one of my favorite narrators. I’ve listened other stories from this author before and I liked most of them except this one.

Beautiful story

Loved this story of two very broken characters who decide to meet in the space in between chaos and order in their lives. This is more of a second chance romance between childhood friends. One has become a celebrity. and the other a stripper. They are both suffering through heartache and are lost. This book has tons of angst and some shocking plot twists. The secondary characters provide a lot to the story, especially the movie wisdom from Andi’s roommate La-a (pronounced Ladasha). Their journey is bumpy, but so beautiful at the end.

Vastly entertaining!

I love Brittany Cherry's books and this audiobook is a fine example of her writing. The hero is a reality show TV star who co-hosts a Wedding themed series with his wife (who incidentally gets pregnant with another actor's baby!). They split and while wallowing in the betrayal he meets the heroine who is (by financial necessity) working at a strip club. Realizing that they actually know each other from childhood, they begin talking and soon begin a relationship. Enter evil and conniving ex-wife and the story takes off. The story is a really good one which I enjoyed a great deal and the narration was just so well done.
