11 Min Decription of the future evolution of life.
Knowing the minimum time scale of our Universe, I have always thought that other life would likely be, not millions, but billions of years ahead or behind our stage of evolution. It just makes sense, due to the 13+ Billion years, we know of and the very short relative time for humans to advance from simple wanderers, to a space faring culture. For example: I created a 13" long chart, that displays the beginning of the Earth to the Present Day. The distance from the building of the Pyramids to Landing on the. Moon, is as thin as a piece of paper. Things have started to change very quickly!
The very insightful, Seth Shostak, explains in detail the direction that our evolution may take from here. It is easy to apply these ideas to the multitude of civilizations around other stars, that may be a Billion or so years ahead of us. Of course, there will be many that are far behind our evolutionary story.
I believe you will enjoy listening to Seth explain our possible future.
