the creatures were fabulous,

this was one of the best books I've read in quite some time,kept me glued to the pages.

So many emotions!

Tom Jordan is my favorite audio book narrator, so I was super excited when I found out he was writing and narrating his own original novel! I was gifted with a copy of the audiobook, but still bought a paperback copy for my shelf collection. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I'll just say "The Skin Doctor" is kind of like a mesh of "The Island of Dr. Moreau" meets "The Substance". My only complaint was that I would have liked a more drawn out exposition before the action starts, but that's just a personal preference. The story is wonderful and thought-provoking, and definitely worth the listen/ read!

Out of this world!

Science fiction fans will live this debut novel by Jordan. well-written and thoughtful, the reader is taken on an unforgettable ride of DNA tampering, bizarre creatures, and two brothers convinced they are gods. The twists and turns keep you glued to the story, with an array of gasps, wth, and awws. There's plenty of action with great character development and tongue-in-cheek scenes. And there's a satisfying ending. I'm not usually big on sci-fi, but this really sucked me in from the beginning!

IMO well worth the credit. Wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but was interesting nonetheless. Reminded me of dr Moreau island towards the end. Was definitely good read narration was good too.

The Skin Doctor is a masterclass in modern horror—equal parts sharp satire and skin-crawling suspense. Tom Jordan turns a routine dermatology visit into a spiraling nightmare of gaslighting, grafts, and five-star Yelp manipulation. Dr. Baskin is unsettlingly familiar, Nurse Hives is both magnetic and menacing, and the clinic itself feels like a smiling façade masking something monstrous.

Jordan nails the slow-burn dread, blending corporate gloss with body horror in ways that stick with you—literally. You'll never look at glowing skin or glowing reviews the same way again. Disturbing, smart, and uncomfortably real.

Five stars. No asterisks.

Tom also narrates this and I've discovered his narration before - it does NOT disappoint. He is a great storyteller.

This was a twisted adventure that started with a simple Dr visit, and I'm not going to lie, every corner there was something new or new problem.

The whole story was very entertaining with fast passed and excellent performance by Tom Jordan.

if you think you know what is this book about, believe me, you are in for a surprise!

The Skin Doctor

I expected body horror. I received absolute insanity. This is not what you think it should be. This is Dr. Moreau. This is The Cabin in the Woods. This is The Substance. I don’t know what this was…but I liked it. Narration was on point.

OUTSTANDING!!

I found Tom Jordan through his brilliant narration of books like The Black Farm and the like. When I saw that he himself wrote a book, I was SAT. He did not let me down. Incredibly unique, entertaining, and of course, the narration is perfection. I loved the characters, the descriptions of the...creatures...was mind blowing. if someone could turn this into a comic book or make some fan art, that would be LEGENDARY. 10/10 highly recommend. Fingers crossed for not only a part two to this book, but more books from Mr. Jordan!

Not a horror but okay

I love the narrator and this is his first book, however it was missing some parts of the storyline. Some of the characters were named as characters I have heard in other books. It feels more science fiction/ fantasy than horror. If he writes another book I’ll listen because I love the narrator!
