Remy is a tour guide for the notoriously haunted Carrow House. The old place is a haunt for the superstitious, but Remy hasn't seen any proof of the paranormal yet. So when she's asked to host guests for a week-long stay in order to research Carrow's phenomena, she hopes to finally experience some of the sightings that made the house famous.

At first, it's everything they hoped for. Then a storm moves in, cutting off their contact with the outside world, and things quickly take a sinister turn. Doors open on their own. Séances go disastrously wrong. Their spirit medium wanders through the house at night, seemingly in a trance. But it isn't until one of the guests dies under strange circumstances that Remy is forced to consider the possibility that the ghost of the house's original ownera twisted serial killerstill walks the halls.

And by then it's too late to escape…

Great read. The story keeps you guessing. Great choice for narrator. Coates books always has good people. I have read 5 of her books and this was the best. I enjoyed it.

dynamic story

fantastic story! I believe there is a mistake on the recording where chapter 36, 37, and 38 do not play in order.

Great Haunted House Story, one minor technical issue

This was a great spooky story to read during Halloween season, it gives very much “Rose Red” vibes! The only issue is that Chapter 36 & Chapter 37 are switch in here, I thought I was going crazy until I went to my physical copy to double check!

Hard to scare me but this one did it!

I just discovered this author and have listened to two so far. She tells a ghost story like no one else.

pretty good ghost tale

this is a pretty good ghost tale. has nice character development. I read another Coates book, haunting of Blackwell house, and that book was horrible so I had pretty low expectations. that being said, I really liked this book. I think the characters were well built and it did keep me guessing. I would recommend this one.

By far my favorite Darcy Coates book

Oh, I said all I needed to say in my title. To restate: this was by far my favorite of Darcy’s books!

relaxing to listen to but enough mystery to keep you enthralled

Good Fluff Beach Read

Not super scary with a forced happy ending. Great for some fluff listening / reading. If you are listening for the first time please be aware that chapters 36 and 37 were uploaded backwards so you need to skip ahead and then back.

Haunting House & Ghosts!

I have always loved spooky movies & stories. This MOST definitely was everything!!

It was spooky, it instantly draws you in. Darcy Coates did it for me and I plan to continue reading many more.
