The stirring tale of finding your roots

It was hard to get into this book at first, but it kept getting more and more enticing. What a beautiful story!

I love all the characters, flaws and all… with a mystery and love story all in one gorgeous landscape.

Imagery, History, and Craft

I enjoyed the descriptions of landscape, seascape, Norwegian potato farming, and exquisite woodworking. I did not love the characters -they felt two-dimensional but their stories held my attention. There were a couple jarring errors (a grammatical error (chapter 14, “between Gwen and I”), and the closing credits-said the title was “The Sixteen Years of the Somme”).

Shout then whisper. impossible to listen to.

The narrator is impossible to listen to comfortably. i wish I could have my credit back. Loved the Sister bells Trilogy. Really wanted to listen but can't without being put in a sour mood.
