Still a fan of Horowitz

This installment of the Detective Daniel Hawthorne series continued to captivate me until the very end. It twisted and turned to the point that I didn't have a clue who had done it til the end. Every time a credible explanation was given I was on-board --- until the next credible explanation. Loved it. The reason for the downgrade in stars is the narrator. He is very good with the male voices, but his female voices were horrible. Not just bad -- horrible and hard to listen to.

Very enjoyable

I have read/listened to several mysteries by Mr. Horowitz. I found this to be one of my favorites.
I also appreciate the skill of the narrator. He was first rate!

Thoroughly enjoyed!

Love the character development, the humor bits thrown in and the narrator’ performance enhances the characters coming to life. His “Grandshaw” voice was spot on!

Very good book, even better as audiobook

I enjoyed the book very much, I loved the characters especially Tony who intentionally showed himself as kind of hilarious. I loved the narration that gave genuine voice to each character.

WOW. This guy can tell a story like no other

I thought the first one was great but number two is mind blowing. Mr. Horowitz is a genius. If you are looking for a book with twist? Then sit back and take ride. I’m getting three now.

Really Entertaining Series

This novel deepens the reader’s understanding and interplay of the main characters, set against the backdrop of a really good mystery. I’m totally hooked. The narration by Rory Kinnear makes it all come alive. Looking forward to the next!

Couldn’t stop hearing this book

Such a fresh take on a mystery story. Brilliant that the author is a character in the story...It works! Listened to both books as I worked and want more!

Excellent story by Horowitz

I started listening to Anthony Horowitz a couple of years ago and just picked back up with this series recently. I love the narrator and think the story is very well written. Great listen while doing housework and actual work. I’m off to buy the next book in the series!

Sat in the car to enjoy

I enjoyed the story, surprised by who was the actual killer. The production had enough voice range to help the characters feel more alive
