Resumen del Editor

When Camille Taylor’s husband dies unexpectedly, the carefully constructed life she's worked so hard to build in Washington, DC, shatters. After struggling for almost a year, she reaches a breaking point, packs up her daughter, and heads for the Alabama coast where she grew up.

The salt air and slow rhythms of the coast soothe Camille’s spirit, but when she meets local fisherman Mack Phillips, she learns that things have changed in her hometown. Runoff from an abandoned development site is polluting the water, and Mack has brought a suit against the site’s owners—Camille’s father among them.

Battling her own fears for the fragile ecosystem of her beloved Mobile Bay, Camille joins her father’s defense team, but the more she learns, the more she wonders if she’s landed on the right side of the fight. Meanwhile, Camille is slowly drawn to Mack's fearless resolve, his sterling ideals, and finally to the man himself.

Faced with blurred lines between right and wrong, Camille must decide for herself what the next chapter of her life will bring.

With timely commentary on Alabama's fragile ecosystem and exploring themes of grief, love, and community, The River Runs South will appeal to fans of southern fiction on the hunt for the nostalgia of Sweet Home Alabama.

Narration was very good- each character was distinct.

I didn’t realize it was going to be a chick-lit story - not a fan.

Such an incredible story!

I can’t say enough good things about this book! I was absolutely hooked from chapter one and couldn’t put it down. In this world where no one takes time to slow down and appreciate the small joys, I found a lot of inspiration in Camille’s decision to shuffle her priorities. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

“Sometimes there isn’t an answer. There isn’t always good and bad. There’s a lot in between.”

I just finished reading "The River Runs South" by Audrey Ingram, and I have to say, I'm blown away! This book has it all - a gripping plot, well-developed characters, and beautiful writing that captures the essence of the American South. Ingram's attention to detail is impressive, and she really brings the setting to life.
I loved how the story unfolded, with plenty of twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. The characters were so real and relatable, and I found myself totally invested in their lives and struggles. The writing style is engaging and accessible, making it a breeze to read.

However, despite their differences, the mother and daughter share a deep bond and a yearning for connection. Ingram skillfully portrays their moments of vulnerability, reconciliation, and shared experiences that bridge the divide. Through these moments, the author highlights the universal desire for love, understanding, and acceptance, regardless of generational gaps.
As a Millennial daughter to a boomer mother in real life, it is not uncommon to encounter similar challenges and complexities. The differing values, perspectives, and experiences of these two generations can lead to clashes and misunderstandings. However, it is important to recognize that every relationship is unique and should not be generalized.

Overall, I can't recommend "The River Runs South" enough. Whether you're a fan of southern literature or just looking for a great read, this book is sure to satisfy. Ingram is a talented writer with a bright future ahead of her, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Typical romance novel

Book club pick. Predictable romance. Boring. Skipped the middle chapters & went straight to the end. Not worth my time or credit.

Another story about a privileged young woman

Typical story about a privileged young woman who thinks she can change the world by doing nothing worthwhile.
