The MFC is written like a petulant teenager

I thought after getting thru the ridiculous amount of gulps the MFC does in the first book I could enjoy the next book but she's so combative over the most ridiculous things when it comes to the men in her orbit. I also feel like the way she was written was to seem strong and stubborn but it comes off as childish, petulant and obtuse. I really hope the character development of the MFC improves going forward. otherwise, it'll be difficult to continue with the series. I do enjoy the other characters though. I think I still like the series enough to continue listening and reading it.

MFL seems intentionally obtuse. I wanted to finish the story but caught myself rolling my eyes more and more frequently.
