Resumen del Editor

The life of a Diver can be a really short and violent one. There are not many prospects more terrifying than having to jump into a mysterious portal to find out what lies on the other side.

To say that the odds are stacked against them would be a huge understatement, yet the reason why so many are ready to risk everything is that the rewards are on par with the magnitude of the dangers. In no other profession can you go from rags to riches so quickly.

For Mikhael Corvin, life was supposed to be a breeze. Born into the nobility, he was destined to become a Cartographer and live a safe and peaceful existence, but fate had other plans in store for him.

Now, he finds himself at the training grounds of the Seven Portals, about to start his crash course in how to become a Diver. To Mikhael, this whole charade is little more than a suicide mission, a way to get back at those parents who wronged and abandoned him. But as his self-preservation kicks in, Mikhael learns that life - no matter how harsh - can be worth living.

The life of a Diver can be a short and violent one, for certain. But every time Mikhael steps into a portal, he's determined to make the most of whatever time he has left.

Good story

The good:

The writing is good, as is the character depth. In addition, the plot is pretty good and we don't see needless filler to add the length. beyond these qualities, there is good narration, and we don't have to endure needless spaming of "stats".

The bad:

the litrpg aspect seems to be an afterthought. It feels like the author worked out a good storyline and then added some lirpg elements as an afterthought. For instance, the characters don't actually have stats, there are just abilities and equipment. However the "abilities" are bought at a kiosk. And this is where the actual problem arises with this book. The author states that adventures used to be able to buy all abilities all at once, but the kingdom has put an arbitrary limit on this for profit; now only one ability can be purchased per "adventure". furthermore, the kingdom pays the adventures for each "adventure". Combining these facts makes it clear the litrpg aspect is an afterthought; almost like this book wasn't originally written as a litrpg. Why you ask? without creating spoilers, the kingdom that controls abilities to prevent adventures from becoming too powerful, and this same kingdom pays adventures who buy abilities is unable to fight off a threat via kingdom guards, but 3 adventures can. In short, massive plot holes appear as it relates to the "litrpg" aspect.

In conclusion, this is a good book. it has solid writing, a good story/plot, good character development and interaction. However, this really is not a litrpg book; I feel like this is a bait and switch. It is unfortunate, as is the author actually took time to flush out actual litrpg elements, this series would be a top seller.
