Deadly Triangle

Book 3 of The Royal Factions Series has left me torn and holding what will likely prove to be an unpopular opinion - the Prince is the more attractive suitor and despite everything, I’m rooting for him.

The tension is growing!

The punishment for deception was swift and brutal. Will and Elise are lucky to be alive. When the prince faces Elise for the first time after her fateful attempt to escape, his first question is a simple "Why?" She thought he was going to punish her, but a singular question? She knew just how to answer it, too, and the prince (Eric) was taken aback by her response. He's never had a girlfriend, let alone wife, and doesn't know how to act. He's not the monster he's been made out to be, he's an 18-year old boy in charge of armies and a kingdom.  It's apparent that Eric is trying to understand Elise and find ways to make her happy. The silly side of him comes out when she's behind her bedroom door, trying to put on a new dress and it sounds like she's being attacked. He's ready to take his sword to the perpetrator, but it's only Elise, trying on her stilettos and falling off them every time! There is some levity among all the fear and sadness that gives the prince a great deal of humanity that no one expected from him. He shows that his heart is open to her, and he tries to make her happy, by giving a single word to the court, allowing her sweet friend Remy to escape his abuse. Through the poisoning attempt, to the belittling activities the queen mother arranges for Elise, it's the prince who comes through for her with his support. But, with a single draw of the bow, his jealousy gets the best of him and he does something that horrifies and infuriates Elise. Uncharacteristically, she does something equally horrific! At a loss for words, I have no idea where this is going, if this ending actually happened, or was it just a dream? I feel the connection between Eric and Elise much more than her connection with Will.  With the violence of the ending, has that connection been permanently severed? 
The narration is exquisitely done by Graham Mack. His voice is well-modulated and his accent is spot on for each character. He brings the story to life and packs it with emotion.
