love every minute

The story was original and it kept me guessing. The narration was also on point. Very good job by all involved. I would definitely recommend this as a must-read (Or listen)

Amazing!!

Wow! I didn’t expect this and couldn’t figure out the ending or the many little twists. I can’t recommend this enough. It was very exciting and enthralling. Couldn’t stop listening!

Unique and Compelling!

Like another reviewer said, didn’t love this
book at first. I love psychological thrillers but artificial intelligence isn’t a go-to subject matter for me. This book, however, is very thought provoking reflecting how human emotions may interface with AI and how this may impact our lives now and in the future. Highly recommend! Narration superb!

WOW

After finishing THE GIRL BEFORE, I was eager to explore more writings by this author. I was slowly drawn into this strange story that would twist and turn , leaving me wondering where it was going. I actually gasped as I was nearing the end. Loved it.

The Ending!! Loved!!

I don't write reviews. Ever. It just isn't my thing. I choose books, however, based on reviews. This was a winner and I'm so glad I didn't listen to the reviewers that didn't like the book. I'm not a SciFi person but I loved the book in spite of it! And that ending! WOW! I never saw that coming. Can't wait to read everything else this author has written.
Narration: Bonus points for me for having both male and female performers. Nothing gets under my skin more than a narrator playing all roles and trying to use different accents to make it seem believable.

Suspenseful Treat!

Well written. Draws you in to an unpredictable, captivating storyline. Will definitely be reading more by this author.

Very Interesting, a bit dull at the end

I enjoyed the information and phycological aspect. leaves the reader with some great questions. I thought the build up was very interesting and although I like the ending. I just found it a bit more dull than I had expected. The point of view was interesting. More of an internal monolog than a story being told.

Thought provoking and gripping thriller

Much like Westworld and Black Mirror, The Perfect Wife addresses the intersection of technology and society to explore what it means to be human. In this book the lines are blurred when an artificial intelligence evolves to have more compassion and empathy than its creator. I was gripped from beginning to end by the central mystery and well paced evolution of the central character Abby. I was especially impressed by the authors sensitive treatment of autism and the challenges of communicating with children who experience the world in such a different way. JP Delaney contrasts the ordered algorithms required for machine learning with ethically questionable methods for conditioning children with autism and reminds us that technology is a slippery slope and human instincts and intuition are both essential for navigating the world and responsible for its deterioration. This book was so much more thought provoking and richer than I’d expected. The narrator’s performance was spot on as well. It was one of the better audiobooks I’ve listened to in a really long time. I mostly listen to mysteries and thrillers and usually avoid science fiction but this story is grounded in what is basically our world with the addition of technology that doesn’t yet exist.

Highly recommend if you're into AI and tech

The synopsis didn't say anything about AI, and I saw some reviews were disappointed that this was really about AI, but as that's one of my favorite topics, I loved it! The story telling in the second-person seemed strange at first, but I think it ends up really working for this. I debated whether to give this 4 or 5 stars as I rarely give 5, but I guess I'd say 4.5, rounded to 5!

Awesome narration, suspenseful story, overall a fantastic listen! I couldn’t predict what would happen, it kept me on the edge of my seat.
