Resumen del Editor

Loneliness has reached epidemic proportions. We have lost the art of connection and relationship, and it’s killing us.

Odds are good that you have a loved one or friend whose struggle with addiction, mental illness, suicidal thoughts, or self-injury stems from loneliness. Maybe it’s you. Perhaps you’re feeling depressed or anxious, struggling with compulsive behavior, or simply questioning whether you are truly seen, loved, and valued. The culprit could well be that you’re lonely. Dr. Mark Mayfield understands the crisis well, as it led to him nearly taking his own life as a teen. As a board-certified counselor, he has built a reputable counseling practice on the forefront of brain science and attachment therapies, dedicating his life to helping adults and adolescents confront their feelings of isolation and alienation. He is relied upon by new and experienced counselors for training, and he has become an anchor and guide for community leaders, educators, and faith leaders.

When you listen to and apply the practices in The Path out of Loneliness, you’ll develop habits that move you from isolation to connection. You’ll learn the importance of attachment, the art of connection, the power of relationships, the priority of personal responsibility, the gift of vulnerability, and the vision of God, who knew from the beginning that it’s not good for us to be abandoned to ourselves. This book will guide you, the people you love, and the community you live in toward a richer, fuller, healthier life.

Are you living in someone elses story?

This book came at the most amazing time in my life. I was able to undersrand myself by listening to this. He understands what I have gone through and what I am going through. I was blind to it all and have been dealing with this through denial and focusing on outcomes.

Even if you dont think you suffer from loneliness, reading or listening to this will help you understand others and be more effective with coworkers, family etc.

A Powerful, Precise Plan!!

Listening to Dr. Mayfield read his book made a profound impact on me! I was touched by his vulnerability as he told his personal stories - I never felt alone because his voice was that of a friend. I was engrossed in his professional stories and clinical experience - I have hope that this path out of loneliness will work. I was enamored at his scholarly research and biblical knowledge and application - I know God will walk alongside me in moments of loneliness. I am propelled forward by Dr. Mayfield’s clear and concise path out of loneliness for myself and others - I now have a plan! Please read this once for your own healing and one more time to help another out of their loneliness. Bravo, Dr. Mayfield and thank you for this book!

An answer to my prayers.

This book was just what I needed. I resonated with everything the author says and it gave me a hope I so desperately need. If you are struggling with isolation, depression and lonliness, and may I add shame admitting you are lonely, buy this book!

Decent book with a basic approach

The author did himself a disservice by being the reader. His voice is very melancholy and it sounds as if he's reading a book report.
I'd recommend the paper copy of this one.
