Twists and turns but something was off

The story itself was amusing and some surprising twists and turns. However, the audiobook reader’s performance was not that good. First, it wasn’t believable that this woman’s voice would match a 30 something socialite. Also, she didn’t change her voice when reading other parts so it was confusing as to who was talking in the book.

Game Changer!

I almost didn’t buy this based off reviews. But I’m glad I did. I thought it was going to be a straight forward who dunnit but I was mistaken all the way to the last page. Awesome storyline and characters. I highly recommend this book. I listened to it in a day and a half. Couldn’t stop

My Review

I loved the book and I specifically loved the story line. I'm picky about the narrators but this one does fine. Liked it

Narrator mismatch

I enjoyed this, but would have more if the narrator's voice matched with the lead character's age. The characters were in their early/mid 30s. The narrator sounds like someone twice that age. Upon looking her up, she is in fact. I would have enjoyed this listen more if the voice matched.

Could have been better.

the storyline itself was good but lacked depth and more intrigue. some of the storyline was a bit unbelievable but I get that it's fiction. I struggled the most with the narrator. It seemed she always had a sarcastic tone, and her voice is too old for the young characters.

Interesting story but unrealistic

While this story had a lot of intrigue, some of it was very predictable and the characters were really, really stupid. Each person in the book took everyone at face value and didn’t research them. In today’s day and age, a lot of people use Facebook, Instagram etc.. to find out more about new people, especially strangers who become friends instantaneously.

Great Thrill of a Read!

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the beginning, but boy am I glad I listened. It was hard to put down. Full of twists, turns & surprises. This was a great listen. Highly recommend.

One of the better Who Done Its

The Other Mrs. Miller felt fresh because it cleverly guided the reader to who the culprit *wasn't, so when it was discovered who it was, I tipped my hat. I love when debut authors nail it and Allison Dickson didn't disappoint. The story was pretty good though I'm surprised to read other reviews complain that the characters aren't likable. Whether or not I like a character is irrelevant; what I appreciate are characters who are relatively few in number, and distinct in their development. This book delivered in both regards.

The main detractor for me was the fact that Leave it to Beaver's mom was the narrator. I almost couldn't get through it, but the writing and unfolding of the story kept me going. The male voices, Jake's particularly, was downright painful. The end impressed me because to the careful listener, the surprise might have been evident. But it was so subtle that I had to smile with respect. It wasn't a cataclysmic "OMG" ending but it was satisfying. Let's face it, jaw-drop endings are rare and not necessarily the determining factor for a good thriller.

wow! from start to finish, I was riveted. I didn't see the twist coming at all. I'm so glad to have found a new author. highly recommend it!

plot is a real stretch

enjoyed the ending... too many books start off great then wrap everything up in an unconvincing unsatisfactory way. this one delivers an ending better than expected. overall satisfactory.
