Great Little Book To Find

I just randomly came upon this book but glad I did. Cant wait to see where the books will takes us readers too.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved this story! I was not at all expecting the twists and turns in it! it's hard to keep me guessing, but this book did it!

"Messy" indeed

Overall a good tale and an interesting start to the series, but on its own it's very short (in a bad way) and lacking in detail, and scares. In the hands of a great reader like RC Bray or Ray Porter, this might have been a better listen, but the author is a bit monotone, and even when his character (an audiobook reader) is supposedly doing unique voices, Sorenson fails to do so.
I'm already starting book 2 so it definitely left me wanting more.. but not necessarily in a good way.
Still the writing is solid and coherent. Hopefully book 2 will provide more scares, and improved narration. Worth the money, if not exactly a credit (which can get you so much more for less) Buy it, but don't use a credit.

almost perfect

If there was more variation in voice for the characters this would be spot on as the story is tremendous. I downloaded books 2 and 3. I am looking forward to them.

interested, but not sold

I'm glad there are more books in the series. I didnt love it, but it was good enough to entertain me. interested to see what is done with the rest of the series.

Very creepy

I enjoyed this I thought it was very creepy and a good story. The narrator and some of the wording is kinda nerdy gave it a kind of gave it a leave it to Beaver feel but I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to listen to the others in this series.

More enjoyable than anticipated

When I first started this series (I didn't know it was a series), I didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did. The Nightmare Room started off slow, and I thought it would be predictable. By the end, my interest was peaked enough to move on to The Hungry Ones. It was free on Audible at the time, so why not. In my opinion, each book in this series is better than the last, and The Messy Man was the best one by far. Looking back, I never would have guessed these stories would have taken the turns they did. It was all very engaging and thought-provoking.
It's nice that each book picked up where the last left off. I do think it could have been made better with a different narrator, but I can understand an author wanting to narrate for themselves to complete their vision of the story.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the whole series to a friend

Authors Should Not Narrate

I really enjoyed this book. But the narration was not good. This is the fourth time where I’ve listened to a book narrated by its author. Each one of them, the narration was bad. I’ve come to the conclusion that authors should not narrate their own books. There is a reason why most authors don’t.

It was ok - but I didn’t finish it

I lost interest with what was happening with the characters. None of them grabbed me enough to listen to the outcome. The dialogue was a bit hokey.

Good Read!

Not the scariest audiobook ever like someone said in their review, but definitely held my interest from start to finish. Well worth reading, I finished it well within 24 hours .
