Resumen del Editor

If you lost a piece of your memory...

Would you trust yourself to have made the right choices...

In the moments you can't remember.

The Ferox assault has been escalating, drawing Jonathan into combat more and more frequently. With each passing day, he's grown stronger. He can't be certain, but his attackers seem to be getting...more dangerous?

...and, of course, Heyer is gone, again.

Then came the glitch. Unexpectedly pulled from battle, Jonathan finds he cannot recall the final moments of his last confrontation. Convinced that his memory loss was no accident, he must uncover the truth.

His only leads are a less than helpful artificial alien intelligence, and Rylee, a mysterious and possibly crazy woman, who seems to think they share a history he doesn't remember.

With no means to contact the only being who can give him answers, and knowing he has gaps in his memory, Jonathan must make every move uncertain of the consequences. The blonde man better show up soon, because events hidden in Jonathan's lost memories may trigger a war humanity isn't ready to fight.

The Never Paradox is book two in The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs, listeners who have not yet completed book one, The Never Hero, will have difficulty following.

Parental Warning: This series attempts to keep swearing to a minimum. However, the sequel has one unavoidable usage of the F-word. This is due to its presence in a direct quote taken from another piece of fiction.

Hodges Pulls it off

I honestly didn't think Hodges could pull of a squeal to the Never Hero, especially within the style he chose to write it. The Never Hero is one of my favorite books of all time. Not due to the incredible story arc (still really good) but because of the character development and the way in which Hodges goes about telling the hero story.

In the Never Paradox, Hodges is able to keep that style of development by growing Jonathon from the a typical soldier, to the leader that he will become. We still get the hero development story arc between Jonathon and the roommates, but we also get the personal development between Jonathon and his subconscious (Literally). We also get the love story/triangle that everybody predicted we'd get. But that development turns out to probably be the best part of the book; which is surprising coming from me! And his new love interest is already in his world and we finally have someone to discuss things with without them forgetting or not believing Jonathon!

My only true complaint is about an hour of the book about a quarter of the way in. This is when we get the answers to SOOOO many questions. It's all relevant and somewhat interesting, but it takes forever and actually starts to drag on. If it was spread out through out the book, then It would have been bearable, but thrown at you for an hours length of book, was just aggravating by the end!

I'll also complain about Hodges' desire to get Jonathon a rival at all cost. I wont ruin the story, but it's forced and undesirable. However, this is greatly outweighed by finally introducing us to Jonathon's new companions!

I can't wait for book 3 to see how this all ends!

Top 5.88584042e+157% of All Quasi-Sci-Fi Books

The Never Hero and The Never Paradox both exceeded my expectations by several orders of magnitude, or by leaps and bounds, if you'd like. I'm an unusually sophisticated grown-up man-child who gets high on oxytocin by trolling new authors and bashing their crappy books (vs inhaling oxy's - hence, my sophistication). Therefore, I was inclined from the get-go to hate this 'Hodges' character and give his debut story one hella wicked thrashing. But I can't do that, not in good faith anyway. His debut is too goddamn solid. Steve's narration isn't nearly as good as Hodges's story, but he didn't actually suck, so I'll leave him alone. That's it, folks. Read someone else's positive review if you're not yet convinced.

Excellent

Truly excellent book. Just as griping as the first. Characters, story, everything. Performance is flawless Barnett jumps from one character to another and creates unique separation of each.

Intensely Intriguing!

This book is a well-executed piece of art. The characters are very well fleshed-out, the intrigues are intriguing, o
and the storyline draws you into this world.
Thank You!

A strong follow up!

At first I saw the length and I was holy crap, does it really need to be that long? Turns out, yes! There are a few spots where it feels long. The moments are fleeting and when you think about it, add to the story. The back story is trickled in well, and I don't feel like there was any info dump sections. I'm excited for the next one!

Good Continuation Could Use More Plot

Really good character development, which is good and bad. Good because we care about the people but bad because not as much is invested in the plot. still a solid listen and we get lots of answers and they are well thought out. Worth a credit for sure and I will buy the conclusion.

Amazing!!

Even better than the first, which is saying something. Also none of the characters acted stupidly, which I appreciate. Narration was spot on as well, every character is distinct.
