Sweet Romance with a Serious Side

I really enjoyed The Mix-Up! It’s full of fun, quirky characters, a dash of chaos, and a whole lot of heart. The romance is sweet and slow-building🩵 — I found myself smiling through most of it. Paige is super relatable: funny, a little awkward, and just trying to figure life out. The love interest is charming without being over-the-top, and their chemistry feels warm and natural.
But it’s not just a love story. There’s a focus on friendship, self-confidence, and learning to take chances. And the cozy cake shop setting? Cake is never a bad thing!! 🎂.

‼️Side note: I went into this expecting a lighthearted rom-com, so I wasn’t prepared for the emotional twist. Paige is a breast cancer survivor, and her experience — including the emotional aftermath — is a big part of the story. It adds depth, but also heaviness at times. If that’s a sensitive topic for you, just a heads-up.

If you’re okay with that or can navigate the heavier moments, this is a heartfelt, charming read I’d definitely recommend!

fun and quirky

Page doesn't want be hurt anymore. she has found many ways to distance herself due to past issues where the people who they love her don't show there live well. she accidentally hooks up with wrong guy and the fun begins. full of funny moments. wondering if walking alpacas is actually fun

Good listen

Great narration. Good story. Likable characters. A bit repetitive at times. I liked there was a realistic problem in this story *warning spoiler below*

Wanted more

I did really enjoy this story but I felt like there was a lot left out. Like I wanted more details on Noah and how he ended up at the party or more on his background. It kinda was frustrating how many times I felt like it moved on with no questions answered.

Such a great Listen!!

Exactly what I was in the mood for! A sweet, funny, at times a tad serious and oh so relatable main character. She is well written. This book will not disappoint if looking for a fun, light, entertaining listen.

Lovely and humorous

I laughed so much more than expected and so hugely enjoyed this book that I must find more of her novels!

Protagonist full of annoying self doubt

This book has a lot of potential but it doesn’t fully deliver for me. I found the protagonist very annoying.

All the emotions

At first I kind of regretted starting this book cause the FMC just annoyed me. I decided to stick with it and I’m glad I did. More and more reasons came up that explained why she is the way she is, so give her time. I laughed a bit and smiled a lot, nodded especially when it came to having shitty families, and even shed a tear or two for her.
Also Noah is a total dreamboat - he is the perfect mix of a guy with emotions, empathy, humor, lust and apparently he is a great kisser and great in bed. What could a woman want more? :)


What did annoy me was how cut off the epilogue is. The writer could have totally played that day out and it would have been a nice ending. This was just.. bla. The rest was good though.

Great Story but not long enough!

The story was great but the story wasn’t long enough! The ending should have been longer! It felt rushed at the ending which made the ending not as good even with an epilogue. It needed something more!

Feel bad for the author

I feel bad for the author the reading of this book was horrible. Computer generated reading was just sad. They even inserted missing parts of the book which was a train reck. The female voice was way too fast. This would have been a good story if an actual human read it. I could not even finish listening to it. What a slap in the face to an author to have their hard work produced in such a sloppy fashion.
