From the very beginning of the book, the authors emphasize that these are HUMAN dynamics that we all experience when we interact with other humans. They use plain language and examples of how these dynamics play out and wreak havoc in our relationships. AND they give us step-by-step frameworks for how to understand these patterns and move forward to build up the important relationships in our lives (if that is what we choose to do). This book has helped me to now SEE these “predictable patterns” at work! It’s like I have a magic decoder ring to start understanding other people’s communication and actions. I can “be the observer” (as the authors say) of others instead of jumping to conclusions on why others do what they do or say what they say based entirely on MY way of looking at things.

Excellent Compilation and Explanation

Stacey Martino was thoughtful in explaining the concepts in this book in ways that make them relatable. I have applied these concepts to my own relationship with great success. It was, and continues to be challenging in regards to "being the one" to make the change first. But, seeing my partner happy and having fun with him after years of stress, is worth being the person to make the change. What did I do? Stopped pleasing, started looking at how he gives, payed attention to what I put into the loop, became open to my feminine, and using other recommend suggestions. Do it!! It works.

Closest to a marriage handbook ever!

I listened to the entire book straight through!

It was a pain going through this audiobook

I could have just mark it finished and ended my pain but I wanted to write a fair review based on facts..
Main annoyance I found:
1. The author spent plenty of time explaining what she is about to explain as if it was a teaser not an actual content … I’m ok with 30-60 seconds intro for each piece of content” but not 10-15 minutes sometimes!!!
2. Her voice is high pitched and annoying I really hated listening to this audio book
3. They keep bringing up the story of her self and her husband of how they became coaches sharing their great work to change families “ honestly the whole concept of missing piece could’ve been just summarised in 5 minutes while saying “ work on your communication skills, be the big one, own your life and don’t point fingers!! Not to just invent a new method which is over promised and miserably failed to deliver… At the end if u have any idea about emotional intelligence, and how to listen to another human being and do your part as an adult in your relationships - don’t waste your time or a credit in this book….
