Another winner

Karin Slaughter has written another winner. This book is a good addition to the Will Trent series. Kathleen Early, as usual does a great job of bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Best Will Trent (Angie) since Triptych

This book was great. I'm happy it omitted most of the gruesome graphic violence often in Slaughter's books. I gave up on the original Sara Linton books because they were SO violent and I really didn't like the characters (grew to hate Lena (and still do) but what happened to her in Blindsighted was sick, as was the fate of the missing women in Criminal; didn't like Sara Linton either -- too goody-goody, whiny, self-righeous, and dull -- and didn't like her Dudley Do-right foolishly-trusting-Lena unfaithful husband either). There was NO character I liked in that series. But then I met Will Trent... and Angie. Triptych was an eye-opening non-stop roller coaster ride. Whoa! If anybody was an evil monster, it was the killer in that book (until I read Pretty Girls, which was brilliant but I couldn't read it again if you paid me -- waterboarding too sick). If anybody was big, strong, scary & invincible, it was the killer in Triptych, and Spoiler Alert! he had two women who were hurt (one only a girl and almost already dead) trapped in his basement. But the other woman was Angie, whose fury fuels superhuman efforts. She is like the anecdotal crazed drug addict who doesn't feel pain but keeps coming. I cheered Angie in the finale fight in Triptych. However (and despite disliking Sara Linton -- Will could do SO much better), I have grown to hate Angie over the years for her treatment of Will. I love Will. Who wouldn't? He's brilliant and he's the soul of kindness. So when it seems that Angie may be dead, given her abuse of Will I for one heaved a sigh of relief and said, "About time." The rest of the book is a typical Angie roller-coaster ride but for once details of the most gruesome violence were omitted. Thank you. This book was great. That's all I can say, other than that I AM SURE I WILL READ IT AGAIN -- it's THAT good.

Will and Sarah and the past that won't go away

Liked the complication of the story line and some of the past is explained. It's hard to have much sympathy for some of the characters though because they continue to manipulate others. One thing that I didn't get is in the publisher's summary, it says the local hero is married to Will's ex-wife---that is not accurate at all.

1st book I've read in Will Trent Series

I was reluctant to start this book, since there are previous books by Karen in the Will Trent Series. I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this book, listening late into the night. I didn't feel I missed any history by not listening to the previous books. I read Pretty Girls first, which is not a will trent book, and that's what lead me to this one. Unlike Pretty Girls, it took a tad longer to get into...there is alot of technical police stuff in the beginning that bored me, but once it got going...I was hooked! Great listen, I'll be recommending it to others. I'm also going to check out others in the Will Trent series.

Loved it

It was a great listen. Narrator was awesome. I liked hearing Angie's perspective. Didn't make me like her but provided some level understanding doesn't change that I still dislike her. I'm kind of irritated with Sara while at times I certainly understood her feelings there were times it was like alright miss high and mighty but we will see how all that goes. Interesting ending for sure. I always love Karins books. The development and maturity and little glimpses into the characters background is just perfect enough to keep some mystery about them. Great book.
