Of a childhood friendship that developed into a passionate love affair. Of a family torn apart by wealth and of two young people who were prepared to sacrifice everything for love.

Amazing story.!

Soraya Lane never disappoints. I love all of her books. But this one had me captivated and I loved it. Such a beautiful story. I never wanted it to end! A must read/ listen! I can’t wait for the next book!

Well told story of mystery Romance and love. Could not help but feel deeply for the characters depicted.
Truly, enjoyable

Enjoyable Read

I found myself caring more about the book as it went on. Part of it for me was the narrator. But also the feelings and thoughts of the young Estee were a bit unbelievable for me. 12 year olds of that time did not think like that. But once she grew into young womanhood I became more engaged. The balance of the generational stories was terrific.

So trite and predictable

Ugh. I figured it all out by the first hour of listening. The narration was a bit annoying as well. Everyone is stunning, beautiful and brilliant. I realize it’s a book that should feel like an escape to fall into, but I just wanted to escape out of this story.

A Story of Enduring Love

I loved it and would recommend it to anyone who needs a break from the heavy literature centered around WWII.

A fun read while in Milan

The Scala in Milan, Lake Como, and the surrounding countryside all came alive as I read this intriguing tale of lost and found loves.

Awful narration

It maybe a great story but despite my best efforts to continue, I did not. The narrator is just not suitable for my listening experiences. It was like reading to a five year old. Short monotone dialogue. Perhaps it’s the writing. Just not for me
