Better narration!

I love the Pitt mysteries, so it’s a given I like the story. However, the change in narrators In the previous book was jarring. I think Ms. Sterlin made some needed adjustments to her style, and it worked. I enjoyed the book immensely and barely thought about the narration, which is exactly as it should be.

But I would have enjoyed a bit faster pace by the reader. Still quite fine recording.

I love this series!

Took me a minute to get used to the new narrator, but she is excellent. The story is as fantastic as always!

This was so good. I think I figured out who it was but truly on pins and needles for Pitt.

I enjoyed the plot twists of the story. The narration lacks flair but if you listen at 1.15 speed it is better.

I always find this author's work very interesting and part because of the attention to historical detail and, of course, because the mysteries are exciting. again I recommend highly.

Another Perry Winner

As the title suggests the murders are gruesome and Thomas Pitt, recently promoted, has more than just murders to deal with as those who work for him resent him as do his superiors who think he's not up to the job. And he and Charlotte have bought a new house, depending on his raise. And then there's sister Emily's husband Jack running for political office and Mama's ongoing relationship with an actor. With her historical insights into late Victorian London and well developed characters, Perry nevertheless weaves into her plot a timeless issue as much a problem today as it was in Victorian times - one which provides a motive for murder!

Multiple Masterful Mysteries!

Charlotte and Thomas Pitt are moving uptown, but also moving into more uncertain business with politics mucking up regular life.

My first Anne Perry, really good

I listened to the book twice to find the plot tight and well done. The historical setting added a vital and tasteful backdrop to an intriguing mystery.
