She is waiting by the water's edge.
When Richard and Kate Harrison venture exhausted into the Haven (a quiet Cornish cove) they happen upon strange events. Richard - unhappy and lost - is haunted by the vision of a beautiful stranger. Fascinated and obsessed, he is soon ensnared in a very dangerous game. Nothing is as it seems, and the past has returned to take hold over the present. Their marriage falling apart, Kate and Richard watch their world dissolve as spiraling events threaten their very existence.
The deeper Richard digs into the Haven's dark secret, the more trapped he becomes. Only Kate can save him from this course of self-destruction, but does she care, or is she just another player in the game? Meanwhile, the Maid of Haven waits down on the beach alone, knowing that the time for her revenge draws nearer.
It is for you that she waits...

There are hauntings but are they nightmares or hallucinations?
Then a cold blooded murder.
The complex character backstories add to the mystery.
Andrew McDermott added tremendously to the story with his narration. Honestly, he could read the phone book (if they were still around) and make it enjoyable. I’ll definitely be looking for more of his narration.
I received a free copy of this book in lieu of an honest review.

Go, listen to the cry of the sea & all while waiting for the tide.
A ghost story with wonderfully developed characters & has everything from jealousy, love, guilt, revenge, hauntings, mystery, murder, returning of souls & loved lost.
The narrator has an accent, but it's easy to get use to. The only thing that was a little hard to get use to, was the pitch of his voice. When his pitch would go up at the end of each sentence.
I Very much enjoyed the story & I would recommend it!!
I was given this book for free at my request and I am providing this honest review voluntarily.

The Haven is a story that doesn't fit into a neat category. I think I found it in "mystery" but it's almost closer to thriller or horror.
The story follows our main character who is on a trip with his wife. Their marriage is on the rocks and is in danger of collapse. The husband experiences visions and nightmares during the trip. This is then offset by a story set several hundred years in the past of a pair of lovers who lived in the same area.
This story has the same issue I find with many I've read/listened to set in the UK, where the main characters don't have lives outside the story. No parents or siblings are mentioned, no friends texting them, etc. It's like they exist only in the story. This being a short story, like 3ish hours long, this is kind of excusable but I would have liked more rounded characters.
The characters themselves are a little 1 dimensional, the main character is neurotic, his wife a b****, the towns people are more like furniture then people, etc. Again, I think it is more a product of the length of the story than an oversight, but I feel that the length could have been maintained and the story could have been a little more fleshed out.
The setting is fairly well written, not in vivid detail, but enough to get the sense of the place.
They story itself was OK, not great but interesting enough as to keep my attention. The ending was a little off though. I won't go into detail, but the events that happen to the main character are given 2 explanations, and both are presented as correct. Especially when reinforced by the last page.
The narrator, Andrew McDermott, did a well enough job, however he does little to no differentiation between characters and doesn't really try and do a female voice. His accent is a little hard to understand, at times, but feels authentic to the story.
All in all, not a bad little story. It could have been fleshed out a bit better and given a bit more life. However the settings and atmosphere were well written, and the voice acting made it feel real (even if there was no real "acting" to speak of.
It's nice for something different.
