History Horror and Mayhem!

The author excelled at character development. Despite the many moving parts in the story, each character remained distinct and easy to follow. Though gory at times, the story was well-crafted and swept me away on an adventure through the 18th century. I couldn’t put it down! I will be exploring other books by this author. I was surprised at how well the computer generated voice sounded. Except for the long pauses in the prologue )

Unexpected ending!

The story is quite interesting and the ending was unexpected which took it from a 3 to a 4 at the end. One thing that was off-putting was the author's obsession with rape. There were probably 15 scenes of rape throughout the story. Overkill and icky 🫤
AI narration is not good. It's just flat and kept missing putting proper emphasis where it was necessary. This was the first AI read book I've tried and I can say that I will definitely avoid them in the future.

This book will grab your attention and keep it to the end. Plot twist was phenomenal! This is one I will read again one day.
