History Horror and Mayhem!

The author excelled at character development. Despite the many moving parts in the story, each character remained distinct and easy to follow. Though gory at times, the story was well-crafted and swept me away on an adventure through the 18th century. I couldn’t put it down! I will be exploring other books by this author. I was surprised at how well the computer generated voice sounded. Except for the long pauses in the prologue )

Great story, beautifully written. I didn’t love the AI voice though, especially for such lovely prose. I feel a human voice would have offered depth.

pretty good story

AI from audible is not the state of the art. They can do better, nevertheless I hate the idea that actual people are going to be cut out of the industry.

Shocking ending

I am rarely surprised by the ending of a book. Most are so very transparent that I know the ending before I make it there. This book was so different. I literally had no clue till I got there. My mind thought the ending was going to be so different. I truly enjoyed this entire book.

The story was good enough, but the narration was robotic.

I did not like the narration of this book. it sounded like a robot reading to me.
