Great love story

Great story, loved the characters, had me teared up several times! just the right length. Julia did a great job with the read.

Fun romance with a touch of the supernatural.

In many a very traditional romance novel with engaging characters and a sweet story. It isn't anything revolutionary but should provide you with exactly what you want if romance novels are your thing.

So charming

Although there were some very predictable moments. The performance as always with MS Whelan is fabulous and the story kept me engaged to the very last word.
These characters are ones you know as well as want to get to know. There is a little magic mingled in that just adds to the charm. Great listen. And I've listened at least 3x.

Romance

I like the way the story unfolded about relationships, the honesty that is needed to keep them whole.

Great book

The book was a little slow at the beginning, as I couldn't get past the seemingly special power she had. But the more I got into it, the more I couldn't stop listening. I got goosebumps at more than one point in the book. A great listen.

Good story but annoying male narration

Good story and narrator did a good job on the female voices but the male voice was incredibly annoying. Every time I knew Gabriel was going to talk it was like nails on a chalkboard... no man I know talks with that raspy monotone voice

Possibly, but I don't know that I would spend a credit.

What aspect of Julia Whelan’s performance would you have changed?

She is good with women's voices, but with men's voices, I just wasn't feeling it.

Could you see The Glass Kitchen being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Again, possibly. But I think we have magical cooking covered in a much better book with Like Water for Chocolate, and the movie version was not great.

This is not a terrible book, but it's certainly not great either.

Whimsical

"The Knowing" is a great vehicle for telling a love story about food and family. Well read and well written, I had a hard time putting it down.

Loved this book! Listened twice!!

From beginning to end this book was entertaining and interesting. The combination of characters - who were all interesting characters, worked so well together. The idea of a sixth sense relating to food was also very intriguing. I think this is the only book I've ever read two times back to back.

Lipstick On A Pig

I have owned this $5 sale story for way too long with out listening to it! Gads, l just don’t want it to end, it’s that entertaining. Ms Whelan male voices became soooo sexy during 2014 narrations that l now own 45 of her reads, don’t miss her Karen Robards trilogy. This number doesn’t account her AKA Sophie Eastlake reads Eg Thea Harrison, l own. This author loves NY and this book really showcases it so well with food and laughter and our hunky business hero. Our little heroiness, Ariel steals this book. Yes there is a bit of paranormal in this read, but just references no great detail. However, if you don’t love feel good stories, you will miss the genuine good writing by this author.
