Resumen del Editor

Ansel Bray, an artist known around the world for his tragic hiatus from the canvas. Ansel Bray, a broody, handsome man not known by me, at all. Long dark hair, blue eyes, and dimpled cheeks. I've never met her, but her image is imprinted in my mind. An angel muse who inspires me to paint again.

There is something about him. Something that spurs a need to be as close to him as possible. A need to find out why. There is something about her. Something that draws me in. Something that urges me to find out what her presence means.

Why does the girl in his painting look so much like me? Who is this girl, and why can I see her so vividly?

I shouldn't fall in love with him. I shouldn't fall in love at all.

But fate plays her hand. But fate has other plans.

The lines of my life will blur. The needs of my heart will change.

What a beautiful mess we've made.

Intriguing

Love the mystery of how they tie it together. The characters are perfect. I didn’t want to stop listening.

Great Storyline

Absolutely loved it. The story has many layers and expands nicely as it is being told.
The voice of the assistant is really funny, especially if you know someone who talks and acts like the character.

Love the story

This is by far my favorite Max Monroe book. I love the premise, there is some heat but not too much (so much more modest than their Bad Boy Billionaires and St Lukes books). My only complaint is that I don’t love the way Alexander Cendese does the voices of the female characters, including Indy. I love him as Ansel; he does the hero justice. But his female characterizations are too whiny, breathy and high strung in my opinion. It won’t stop me from listening to it again, but I wish he did Indy justice, too. Stephanie Rose is great as Indy, and still captures Ansel’s spirit well, too.

A most compelling story!

I’ve had this book downloaded for a while, just waiting to read/listen to it. Based on the description, I thought it would be an emotional, tear jerker so I kept postponing reading it until I was in a mood for that kind of story. But too my surprise, it was just an extremely heartfelt story that pulled you into these two characters live fully. While I had a feeling what the twist would be from the beginning, it wasn’t blatant and I thoroughly enjoyed the build up of the story. Gratefully, I only teared up a couple of times and a box of Kleenex at the ready, was not necessary.

Poignant and beautiful

As I was reading, I realized that I had read this book before. I read this an audio and did not care for the narrators. The narrators did not lend themselves to the believability of the characters. That being said, the storyline was great.

Ansel is painting her and cannot explain why he keeps painting her. They have never met. Indie is stunned to find herself the subject of Ansel Bray’s painting at his showing. The two find themselves undeniably connected. With her avoiding him and him seeking her out. They begin spending time together, and they realize that there is something between them. As their relationship involves more is discovered about Indies passed and the connection to Ansell. This connection could destroy them both. She has already had to come to terms with her own failed relationship and a drastic change in career.

A letter and a painting. A letter of thanks tears them apart. A painting; an unexplainably beautiful work of art, brings Indie’s joy of music back. And sends her on a journey, both poignant and beautiful. A true HEA.

Loved the plot twists

The Girl In The Painting is not the light, fun kind of story that I expected from this author. It is a little angsty, emotional and had a surprising twist at the end. I really enjoyed the narration. This book kept me entertained while working and listening.

Powerful & moving story.

Emotionally, sensitively writing of a rapidly moving story.
Read in one sitting. Ansel responds in measured and caring way.

A unique twist of fate

I loved the story and the characters but wish it was more drawn out and developed
