good idea with a so-so ending

I wanted to like this book but I really did not. First I absolutely did not like two separate narrators it was very confusing. Especially when the characters were supposed to be 30's and the second narrator made them sound like they were 50's. Second I found the main character (Ev) Everett to be very wishy in his decisions. The way he would flip-flop between wanting a relationship with (Sy) Sylis and then running away. If I was Sylis I would have told Ev to keep running he was not ready for a relationship.
Then there was the underlining mystery. Basically why? it felt like a throw away plot to just have something aside from a love story. There is the town sheriff who seems to just let the mystery slide by. A real sheriff would be on a missing person till it was finished especially when it became two missing people. Also I was able to figure out who the killer was in the beginning. The final climax scene with the killer was far too much a tosser as both men declare their love.
Finally like others have said you really need a score card to keep track of all the towns people. There are far too many characters to keep track of. With the two narrators and their different voices it was very difficult to follow who was who.
A re-write would be great because this has a good story in it you just have to find it.

Loved it !! this story. the narrator is so fantastic it's like your really there!! After listening to this story,. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It’s well written and the characters were uniquely fantastic. I would suggest this book to my friends that like this sort of genera. this was a good book. The narrator was great.

May I have some MORE Please?

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The readers Alexander and Iggy did a great job. Sure for a small town in upstate NY it's bit unrealistic that most of the town is gay and so acceptable BUT it is a gay M/M romance so.... Everet and Silas are funny and the town characters are amusing as well. The whole time I was listening I was thinking I hope this is a 5 or 6 book series! Imagine my disappointment When I found out this is the only one! Audible Please get Alex and Iggy to read the next book. And Ms. Archer Please find some new adventures for Ev , Si and all the rest of the O'learians. I want to move there my self and eat some Cal and Ashe's lemon bars.

Great story and great narration. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next in the series.

Great start

This is a great start and introduction to The quirky little town of O'Leary. It has a huge cast of wonderful characters and a sadly sweet story of Ev and Silas. Narration really enhanced the story and made it so much more entertaining.

Falling for People and Places

This two have a dramatic meet up and things seem to heat up. But there are some rough spots. Everett comes in not being happy about even being in town. There is also some mysteries to be solved. This helps bring Silas and Everett together. This is a great story of someone coming for a short stay and finding a reason to stay. I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much.

Feel good listen!!!!

This book was easy listen. I hoped ev would’ve claimed Silas sooner, I get he lost his husband and that he was still grieving but idk it just would’ve been better if loving Silas would’ve helped him heal rather than spending the majority of the book running away from his feelings or denying it. It’s a book you can listen to without really focusing or just something to play while you do something. It felt like it could’ve been better but at the same time it was ok.

Because I admittedly haven’t read the other reviews, but I thought it would be be a helpful warning: I was already crying less than ten minutes in. I mean I’m a huge cryer but still.
Anyway, the book is good. The angst starts to ease up before I got annoyed with it, the spice is nice enough, and the mystery isn’t too hard to figure out, but not so easy that you get it by the end of like chapter two. Everything made sense.
Hats off to the narrators, they usually make a good pair and this one was no different.
So overall, a generally pleasant listen.

Enchanting

I definitely understand the sentiment, I have felt as if I was holding my breath for hours on end during the Love in O’Leary Series.
As I fell in love with each couple’s story, I hesitated to proceed onward with the next book because each one was so special and I was slightly worried the magic couldn’t be replicated. To my delight I was proven wrong with every page in the anthology.
Needless to say... I was moved.

Loved it!

Great book! I loved the characters and the story line! Binged it in 2 days! Cannot wait for the next one!
