well written, intelligent perspective on race, what we are doing right, and wrong. why we continue to struggle, and those who continue to push increased racial divide.

Great argument for color blindness

It was good to hear an alternative to some of the teachings of DEI as it pertains to race and racism. Coleman Hughes does a great job of backing up his argument with historical and facts and data. Glad the narration was done by Coleman, it was an enjoyable listen!

insightful and informative, highly recommended

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although many parts were similar to some of Thomas Sowell's works, it provided a fresh perspective. if you've read Discrimination and Disparities, Wealth Poverty and Politics, and Intellectuals and Race, then this book may not provide too much new information except for the fresh perspective of the author and modern examples. even so, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Wow so well written and logical points made!

Coleman Hughs makes me have hope for our country and the younger generations! He makes such logical points and love his counterpoints as its always good to hear the arguments on the other side. Im 52 years old and this feels like the america i grew up in with overall ideas of how people felt in our country and its so refreshing to hear someone this young saying these things. I first heard coleman speak on CNN and thats where I fell in love with his fact based points without emotional points that seem to be playing to an agenda. Then I started following him on instragram and his podcast. After he wrote this book, i was so thrilled to see him on more national shows like king charles and the view (he really did such an amazing job on this show in particular). It is my hope that his book is read by so many folks no matter if u agree or disagree as he makes logical points that one cannot deny. The future looks bright for usa if there are more 28 year olds like coleman who can make points with facts and debate topics with such grace - just like folks used to! I hope to see/hear coleman hughs more and more. So proud of him and hope he is elevated as someone to look up to/emulate in our society bc he deserves it!

A must read for people who are trying to understand what’s happening in our society today in the United States

I would recommend that everyone who hears about this book read it. I’m an older person and for me, living through the 60s and on; I have been at a loss to understand what all is happening in our country in the last 10 or 15 years. It seems that most of the causes I championed and believed in to give equal rights to everyone in this country suddenly fell apart! What happened?
Coleman Hughes reminds us of the smart phone and other things in our society today that in many ways are improvements but also plague us and lead us into thinking we don’t have a special country and that almost half of the country is in battle with almost the other half of our country.
Knowledge is power and the more Americans understand all the ramifications of the world we are living in now, the better we as citizens and our country can become.

You have heard it before, but this is truly a must read. Should be read in high school before one enters college or trade school. His discussion seems to be common sense and he writes with such clarity yet the fact we so desperately need a book like this for our society to hear and understand demonstrates the devastation of neoracist thought. Coleman needs to continue to be a thought leader for this and future generations. It’s unbelievable we’ve stayed so far from the path forged by the civil rights movement. This book helps shine a light on the path back.

As a Non-American Blackman

Coleman delivers, what I regard to be, an antidote to American racial tribalism and decisive politics.

The ideas aren’t new; he makes a point of this throughout the text. The value-add of Coleman’s delivery of these long professed ideas is that he is counterdiscursive to the woke philosophy that intelligent liberal black people must be adherents of post-modern racial religiosity.

In that sense, the writer transcends the text, and the messenger becomes the message.

All around, a great read.

Love the title and idea of book

If you yourself identify as a social activist, equal rights or even non political idea but fairness across the board. You would enjoy this audio. In a time when America is very divided by political and race ideas. This book and author highlight the some of the root problems. You dont have to agree on all but our main goal should be to strive to unify on society and not division. Like the author put his ideas on the book. I enjoy the book and will listen again to take some notes
