I think it was an alright read

Yes, this book did remind me of Indiana Jones and the temple of doom along with other stories. However, it was uniquely its own story. For continuity sake (if you're making your way through the trilogy), it is worth the read. The heroine is smart but can be annoyingly obstinate, the hero is a bit too logical for my taste but I loved how it all came together at the end. one thing to note lords if PDA no outright sex scenes included.

Good but DUMB Female Main Character!

There was much to like about the story,such as adventure, interesting historical references, and well developed characters.
Unfortunately, it also showcased a really dumb FMC! No real woman who appeared to be so determined and strong-willed would make such ridiculous decisions. I wish the author would have made the situations she found herself in more beyond her control rather than making her out to be such a half-wit. I felt too duplicitous. In fact. I couldn't stand her when she was in the heat of danger because she acted so stupidly. She never even cries out for help... it mades no sense.

The narration was excellent, so I think perhaps it saved the story from my rati g it average.

Very enjoyable

I was impressed with the author’ s tenacity to research strange but true events in history and weave an enjoyable story. I thought this one was much better than the first one in the series- although I enjoyed that one as well. No sex scenes in this story until the very end there is a mention of it almost in passing. Well done

This storyline will keep you captivated and hungry for more... onto the next novel, love the characters and storyline. Brillant.

Decent but several plot holes

I felt bereft after the story completed because it felt like the story spent too much time on the murder plot and not enough on the evolution of the main characters relationship. It felt like the writer jumped to conclusions near the end of the book instead of including a natural progression throughout.

Good read

It took a while to get into Daniel because he was so set in his ways, but the story was good and kept me guessing

Better than Book 1

This had more action and intrigue than Book 1. I am not positive there was even one actual sex scene. It's possible I missed it since I was listening while doing other things, but I don't think so. I really need both action and sex. But overall, it was worth my time.
