a must listen

I must listen if you like horror and fantasy. a well written piece of fiction. I wait to see what this author is going to come up with next. I love finding these little jewels. also listen to the afterward at the end. some great about the author.

It was that good

I've probably listened to 100 audible books and this is my first written review because it was that good. It is Addis's first book and I enjoyed it thoroughly, well done, edgy, different, write more, thank you man!

I couldn't finish it

The characters weren't anyone I cared about. The story was a bit trite like Poseidon Adventure, Alien... At the point when I realized that I didn't care if the characters died I stopped reading it.

Soooo...

Based on the flashbacks mixed with the events at the hotel, I wanted all of the characters to be murdered about 3 hours in, I despised the characters the more I got to know them, well except maybe 1 or 2. There is a decent horror aspect, but it mostly turns into me rooting for whatever is going on to just kill everyone lol....I'm not a serial killer i swear :-P

After completing this book. It is a true to honor horror story. As the story got closer to the end, I became less focused on my irritation with the characters and more focused on the horror of the nemesis which overpowered any focus of irritation on the characters.

All in all, a solid horror story

This is a good old classic horror story, I enjoyed it, the one complaint and reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is a scene near the end. I won't throw in a spoiler, but I will say, I feel the author could have reveled how the depravity of these two bully cousins had no bounds, a little differently. I wanted to skip forward because it was horribly obvious what was gonna happen, but I didn't want to miss something important. It was in poor taste and I find myself still upset about it.
That said, if you like a good horror story, this will fill that need. Enjoy :)

Nice Summer read

I always look for lite love stories and horror horror in the Summer for some reason and this fit the bill on the lite horror/spooky/mystery side. I really enjoyed this book and went to see if the author had any more books but it seems he doesn't. Looking forward to more from this author. The narration was good too. Couldn't figure our if it was the same narrator for different voices but if so, bravo sir.

Good story. Poor narration.

If you could sum up The Eaton in three words, what would they be?

The story was entertaining. The narration was annoying and hard overlook. The characterizations of some of the characters almost made me stop listening. If you can overlook that, its an entertaining listen.

Classic Monster tale

The Eaton is a monster story in the same class as Stephen King or Richard Matheson. If you enjoyed The Shining or Hell House make sure to give this one a shot.

Not unless they like odd narrators that have HUGE swings in volume and enjoy enjoy lots of adjectives. Lots and lots of adjectives.

I tried, but I just couldn't finish this one, so I have no opinion on the ending.

This book sounded like a cool idea, but the narrator really tainted it for me. He may be great for other people, but for me the impressions of the characters reminded me of someone reading a book to a child. I'm afraid that my irritation with the narrator made start picking apart the writing of the book. It may great in a print version.

Demons are only relevant to a particular religion. The demon would in fact have to be religious in order to be scared of that religion. A little stupid don't you think??? Best to steer clear of religion in horror novels.
