Wow!!

This was such a good book! I was blown away by the storyline and enjoyed every second of it! I cannot wait to continue this series and read more of Courtney's work!!

Compelling love story!

Wonderful book! The writing is incredible, filled with passion and emotion. Robert is probably the best beta male characters I have ever read. I loved him from the start. Minnie is one of the sweetest and bravest heroines I have ever had the pleasure reading of. Wonderful story, unforgettable characters, I'm so glad I found this novel. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Nice book.

It took me a little bit to get into the book, as well as rewinding several times to listen again. Once I got into the book, it stuck and I couldn’t get enough. Rosalyn Landor does a wonderful job narrating.

Okay...

This story was okay. It wasn't my favorite or my least favorite. It took me awhile to get into it. The narrator was great! I just never found myself really invested in the storyline. It was a nice story. I guess I just expected a little more.

Not bad...

I will seek out other books by Ms. Milan. This was good fun. But It didn't bowl me over.

Really enjoyed!

What a sweet story! It reminded me a lot of the books by Eloisa James but without the major character flaws consistent with that author. These characters were always honorable and true, easy to love. The steamy scenes were light, so if you are looking for a passionate read, this isn't it, but it does have a smattering and those too are sweet.

Fantastic!!!!

The Duchess War was an absolute delight! The writing was superb, the characterizations real and the plot filled with twists and turns but never frustrating devices. The historical backdrop was enriching and helped set the scene without being trivial wallpaper or a history tome / you felt like you were part of the story and part of the time period! The audible narration added much to the enjoyment as well! I can't wait to read more from Courtney Milan.

Drags a bit

This story drags a bit and was nothing special whereby I was captivated and couldn't put the book down.
I read the prequal which was cute and short but I doubt I will read book 2.

A Unique and Wonderful Story

I think I own three copies of this book: paperback, digital and audio, it is worth so much more! The beauty of this story is in the differences and similarities to other stories. While it may have tropes familiar to romance readers the unique spin that Courtney Milan puts on this story makes it stand out in a crowd.
I don't wish to give anything away but if you want a good historical romance this one is a great choice!
