Briar Rose might have a name out of a storybook, but she learned at a very young age that no prince was coming to save her. She’ll have to save herself.

Unfortunately, even that is an impossible task in her current situation—trapped in a terrifying marriage to a dangerous man.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, which is how she finds herself making a deal with a demon. Freedom from her husband…in return for seven years of service.

She expects the service to be backbreaking and harsh. She doesn’t expect to be put on an auction block in a room full of literal monsters and sold to the highest bidder.

To Sol.

A dragon.

He might seem kinder than his fearsome looks imply, but she knows better than to trust the way he wants to take care of her, or how invested he is in her pleasure. In her experience, if something seems too good to be true, it certainly is.

Falling for Sol is out of the question. She’s suffered enough, and she has no intention of staying in this realm…even if she leaves her heart behind when she returns to her normal life.

This bill is so boring. It was lacking umpf. There was so much potential to make this book amazing. I will pass on the rest of the series.

The bride

loved the characters, the narrators, (loved that there was two of them) I like it when the female character has "grit".

great storyline.

Summary
The book starts off with the main female character trying to escape her abusive husband. A demon comes to her door and offered a deal. He will set her free for 7 years of service. Of course she denies and says she can run on her own. But her husband knows her plans and the demons find her later in the hotel beaten to near passing out. She gives in and believes there can’t be much worse to happen at this point.
When they make it to his realm and finds out she on an auction block with other women. Her worries comes back. Even more when a dragon man is her buyer.
He may look like a monster but over time she learns that he wants to please her and treat her like breakable glass. Her libido comes back into play but to learn that he wants children. But once’s the 7 years are up. She must leave any children she has. Her building emotions and the possibility to come are at war within her.

My story review.
I am a big fan of this story. The way it starts is great. Builds the female character story. Giving a little backstory in her and then her desperation of making a change. The main male character has a tad bit of back story. Not much compared to her. But you still get a base feel for them both. He is thrust into this situation and given a gift of 7 years. When no creature has seen a human in long time. History states that at one point they were joined realms in a sence. So they know of humans. He first only wants a child out of this deal but learns over time he wants more.
The storyline has much character growth and shows a little of the future in the ending which I’m a fan of.

The romance was great also. They had a slow build in part. Sounds like the lust came first before any feelings. The main male knew how to treat a woman, and no abusive love in it. Steamy bits were also nicely written and read. Quite a lot of steam an hour in. But it played into the storyline and they don’t describe every time. Which was good because it would overwhelm the story itself.

My only point of criticism in this story is that I wish they had a bit more of the side characters in this. They do great with a few side characters like the dealing demon. You get a peak of what’s happening with him. Tad bit of one more character who is a servant or family of sort. But not much of the kingdom characters and how she fits into being the new queen. Even in the short term 7year mark.
Like what happens when she is introduced to the kingdom and how did they react? He does explain the feelings of some factions but you don’t hear of the event itself. You leave the storyline before the 7 years are up but they tell you how it’s planning on ending.

Narrative review
They both did a really great job. I’ve heard there work before and not one complaint. Able to handle different personalities and implemented into different situations. Like the higher emotions with the added character growth heard. I am a fan of the narrators who can pull this off. When the books starts off you hear of her hopelessly in the tone. Then over time it gets less and less, grows into a stronger tone. Fantastic job.

Would I recommend this book?
Yes I would. The book has m-f romance. Sweet/gentle male lead. Growing Strong female lead, No abusive love. But talks past trauma with abuse but little detail on the situations then.
Monster romance with different body types. Steamy bits that are nicely integrated into the storyline.
Great storytelling, character development, and narrative is all great.

First great romance book a found in a month or more. I’m happy to hear it. I really hope this keeps up in book two. I’m a book worm and in a romance kick, so be awesome if this keeps up throughout the series.
Big thanks to the author. 😁

I really love the dynamic between Briar and Sol. He is so sweet to her and I found myself falling in love with his nature. The steamy parts leave little to be desired and are well written.

Super sweet and sexy

The story was a good one, and the main character, Sol, had some biological differences that made the physical interactions between the two romantic leads rather interesting. Wait, he’s got two of what?!?

Unfortunately, the narrator ruins it for me. Her intonation is off, and sounds like a Valley Girl trying to pretend she’s a seasoned woman having a private conversation with her boyfriend on the phone. Her delivery is almost sing-songy as well, which is wrong for a book of this genre. I won’t be listening to the other two, and hope they’ll get a different narrator so I can enjoy more of these books. Until then, I’ll be reading instead of listening.

Story Was Good - But The Narrator…

it was a nice story, if just extremely repetitive in most places.
the female performer was such a slow and breathy speaker, I found myself falling asleep many times.

did not enjoy the performance

The entire time I was reading this book I felt like I was getting away with something extremely naughty. The Dragon's Bride is somehow both very steamy and is steamy and cozy at the same time. Fantastically amusing read; highly recommended.
