Very Relatable

This book hit me real hard because I saw a lot of myself in the main character. On the outside, I looked like I was doing fine too, but on the inside, I was drinking way more than anyone knew. I would have small bottle in my car before all events. The way he talked about hiding it and trying to keep control reminded me of the lies I used to tell myself. It’s not easy to face those memories, but it also gave me hope seeing how he worked through it. If you’ve ever struggled with alcohol, this story will feel really familiar and maybe even help you see you’re not alone. Only thing I did not like was the audio was a bit fuzzy.

A realistic look at sobriety

This book is for everyone, whether you are an alcoholic trying to recover or simply a reader looking for a great story, you will find a glimmer of hope here. It’s not the usual fiction book. Yes, it’s fiction, but it’s based on a real story. I didn’t know being an alcoholic was such a gradual process to fall into but so hard to escape from. This book describes the detox journey of a person trying to regain control of his life, based on the real experiences of the author.

The bonus tool for managing sobriety is a great idea, but it was difficult to claim since there was no direct link. I had to visit the author’s page, then select “Read more” under the book’s name to finally find the page to claim it. I wish the PDF had just been included with the audiobook.

Also, the sound quality wasn’t the best, but I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, which is truly unique in its kind.
