Being thirty-five, the oldest child, and still single is, admittedly, a little embarrassing. When my brother asked me to be the best man at his wedding, I probably shouldn’t have invited the waiter who flirted with him. It’s not as if my family assumes that maybe I’m not so straight after being single for so long, so it shouldn’t be a shock to bring a man, right?

Cute and low angst story - exactly what I love!!

Audiobook - narration by JD Tomlinson was lovely with distinct voices and a very pleasant voice.


Cute and low angst - my kind of book :)

This is an age gap, boss/employee romance between Trevor and Aaron. Poor Aaron is having such a hard time adulting and trying to make ends meet - everything just seems to be going wrong! It doesn't help that his manager at work has a giant chip on his shoulder and just hates on poor Aaron. Luckily, Trevor is the boss and he swoops in to help Aaron and they end up entering into a fake dating scenario, which i always love. There's a lot for them to work out, negotiating work, family, and of course, the fact that Trevor has always identified as straight....until Aaron. They are adorable together and I loved watching them catch feelings.

Amazing story

I absolutely adored this story. Aaron and Trevor are so cute together.

The narration was really good. This was the first full audio book I’ve listened to because a lot of them make me cringe (no offense to the narrator). This one was really well done!

Love and Genuine Connection

Trevor and Aaron are so much fun!

JD did an amazing job! I had never read this before I listened and I'm kind of glad, it was so much fun. I loved the ride of their relationship growing! They were perfect together ❤️

Such a sweet story of struggles and Discovery

The date mistake was a great story of being true to yourself and fighting for what you want. Aaron is the owner of a pretty popular Cafe where Trevor works. Trevor is a flirt and helps bring customers to the cafe. Aaron has had his eye on. Trevor, since he started working there, but the issue is that Aaron is straight. When a proposition is made from Aaron's brother for Trevor to go along to their wedding, Aaron decides that is an idea and it would give them time to get to know each other better. Little do they know that their relationship will grow as they learn more about each other. Aaron begins his journey of self-discovery and Trevor is there to help them along the way. Trevor's good concerns start to rise when he realizes how much different their lives are and worries that he would bring Aaron down. The two men work through their differences and realize that true love is what's important. I absolutely feel adored Erin in this story and the sweet things that he did to make Trevor feel important. And there is absolutely no way that you could not. love, Trevor. The narrator was wonderful and made the story easy to listen to and enjoyable. I highly recommend this audio.

Trevor and Aaron

Oh how I love Trevor. This story is about Boss and Employee. Sweet Trevor is a waiter at Aarons cafe. Aaron is straight or he thought so until he couldnt stop watching Trevor and Aatons brother convinced him to bring Trevor to a wedding so their mother would stop hounding Aaron. Such a great read! Love this Author cant wait to see what she has for us next!

Workplace Romance

After Aaron and Trevor make plans for Trevor to be his fake date to his brother's wedding, they decide they need some practice runs beforehand. Aaron starts to become more and more aware that his feelings and attraction aren't all that fake.

On both sides things are becoming more real, and I loved the way things developed for both Trevor and Aaron. They were so sweet, and so good to one another. Both seemed lonely in the beginning, and a bit sad, so I really enjoyed seeing them thriving and happier in the later parts of the story.

Great narrator

Great story
Sweet, sexy, and a swoon worthy love between Trevor and Aaron. I love how Sam gave Aaron just the right amount of push he needed, under the guise of fake dating to ask Trevor to be a date for his brother Sam’s wedding. I love the way Aaron handles his bi-awakening. He just excepts it and doesn’t really freak out all though it’s ok to freak out I just feel that his reaction fit his personality so well. Which made the story feel really smooth.
The narrator JD Tomlinson was really good and made the story come alive.
Joelle Lynne has away with telling a story that sticks with you even after your done listening or reading.

I loved that this story is full of energy and can feel the emotions from the narrator and this story will had me laughing and enjoying this very story.

perfect sweet love story

Ahmmm... hello? Why didn't I hear about this absolutely cute, sweet, lovely story sooner?

Why is everyone sleeping on this book? Hello? Hello everyone, wake up!!!!!

The Date Mistake... yeah, let's me tell you it was NO mistake. Like, FR, this is the furthest thing from a mistake ever.

Trevor is an absolute sweetheart. I swear he is such a sweet boy, and I doubt it's from all the sweets he is eating. He is just sunshine. Flirty, fun, but he's a hot mess as well. His life is literally falling apart, and he's just there, trying to hold it all together. My poor baby.

Aaron is Trevor's boss, but can someone tell him that? Our man is over here pining over Trev like there's no tomorrow, and the funny part? He doesn't even realize it.

Their story finally, finally, finally started when Sam suggested making a move ( now, I won't tell you more about this, that's for you to discover, enjoy, btw ). Thank God for Sam and his idea cuz otherwise, who knows how much longer it would've taken these two to finally come to their senses.

I love their love. It was unexpected ( for them, of course, not for us ), and so cute. The way they have fallen for each other was so sweet ( yes, I overused this word, but what can I do? it suits them perfectly ), and you could tell that what they are sharing is genuine respect and genuine love.

I was sad when the book ended. I want more. Actually, no. I NEED more of them. I loved the ending. It was so fitting for them and their story, and I am happy Aaron will get to experience all that love. He deserves it. They both do.

This is my 2nd Joelle book, and for sure, it will not be my last. She knows how to write sweet stories, lovable characters, fun scenes, and spice. Oh, she is good. I love her style, and I can't wait to read more of her books.

The audiobook for this one was also good. Oh, the narrator did an amazing job. I highly recommend not only the book but the audiobook as well.

10/10. Highly recommend if you want to read a sweet, fun, fluffy story. This is a perfect book for a lazy day spent drinking coffee. You will not regret it.
