Eli embraces the adventure as Drake pushes him out of his comfort zone, but as these two grow closer, it becomes harder for Drake to hide who he is. Can Eli accept a man with a soul of a dragon?

The Daredevil is a missed connection, opposites attract, paranormal MM romance with light exhibitionism. It is part of the Black Cat Circus multi-author series that features found family and a magical cast of characters. Each book can be listened to as a standalone but is better enjoyed as a series.

great narration

Eli, a very sweet photographer of the local paper. He received an assignment to cover the BCC circuit that was in town. Drake, the daredevil of the circus. Drake has reservations returning to his hometown. That he left 10 years ago to find BCC.

I listened to the audio book narrated by Zachary Zaba. Not only did I love this story, but I loved the narration. Zachary narrated all the characters and did a fantastic job.

This is my 2nd in this series. I look forward to other stories.

Love these boys!!

I loved this book when I read it, and Zachary did an amazing job of bringing these darling boys to life! The circus, the romance, the spice! This book has something for everyone: magic, love, found family, and a very sexy Ferris wheel 🤣 welcome to the BCC!

So so good

The Daredevil is the first book in the multi author paranormal series Black Cat Circus and what a great start it is. This is Eli and Drakes story. Eli is a journalist who would rather live behind his camera and story. Drake is the Daredevil of the Black Cat Circus. These two make me just love them. I loved the heat and low angst of this book. Duckie Mack has a way with portraying characters that I love. Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down and hated to see it end. Duckie Mack is an amazing author and I look forward to whatever she writes next. If you get the audio narration, Zachary Zana does a wonderful job of narrating this book. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book he narrates. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

Giving BCC characters a voice!

I've had the privilege of reading The Daredevil and all of the Black Cat Circus stories via e-book well before this audiobook's release and this gave me the initial framework of the story and each of the characters involved.
I loved reading The Daredevil, and I was excited to get the chance to listen to the words Duckie Mack wrote brought to life by the narrator, Zachary Zaba. I'll admit that at times, the voice he used for Drake was a bit odd, but only because the voice sounded just outside Zachary's normal register. The voice he provided for Eli was perfect; it was soft, tentative but strong. The flow between the characters and their voices was very smooth, and there were no issues with understanding who was talking, or whose POV I was currently listening to.
I loved the audiobook, and can happily recommend it to any who love the Black Cat Circus, or simply those who love 'light' paranormal stories. I look forward to the remaining stories in the series to be released via audiobook.

Sweet Yet Sexy

This is such a sweet and sexy start to this multi-author series. I really enjoyed following along as Eli & Drake's relationship developed and the made their way to their HEA. The audiobook for this one made experiencing this story so much more enjoyable. Great narration from Zachary Zaba.

‘As strange as it was to imagine our scents providing such intimate details, I didn't hate the idea that people would know. Was it so horrible to announce to the world that I was with Drake? That this bold, strong, sexy man wanted me, of all people. That somehow a mouse of a man brought a dragon to his knees. I felt a grin stretch at the thought. I grabbed my metallic shirt off the floor and thrust my arms through the sleeves. With head held high, I declared, "Let's go." Drake beamed. "Radiant, Marshmallow. Fking radiant."

Duckie Mack! What an amazing start to the multi-author BCC Black Cat Circus series and an excitingly narrated story!

I fell in love with bad boy, daredevil Drake right from the start. But the sweet story of Eli/Marshmallow and Drake finding what each needed to live in love was fabulous, and sizzling, and heart warming.

The Daredevil is such a smooth read, with little surprises and a tiny bit of angst, but all the big heart feels for these two men and their found circus family of supernaturals. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series AND see what Peanut is up to next! <3

The Narration is on point!! 🔥🔥🔥

Performance: Zachary Zaba just made me swoon through the entire story. I don’t think anyone else could have narrated Drake and Eli like he did. His voice is absolutely yummy!!

Story: Wildly romantic! These were the two words I managed to put together to describe The Daredevil to a book chat group WHILE I was still reading it. I also said that even though I felt bad with a headache, I had a HUGE smile on my face. These were the feelings I was putting together just while reading the book. Even now, I can’t quite put into words all I feel about this book. For me Duckie Mack is usually a slow burn, romantic, steamy feel. The Daredevil felt fast like a motorcycle ride through the highways around metro DC in the evening. It felt hot and spicy, but romantic like that old country song by Shenandoah I want to be loved like that.

Bravo!

Originally I had planned to listen to this in short increments but I loved it so much that I listened to it all at once. I was captivated both by the story and by Zachary's narration that brought the story to life. I do wish we got a bit more from Drake's back story and I look forward to hearing more about the other circus performers in the rest of the series! I looked ahead and Duckie set their stories up perfectly with just a tease!

Audio update
Will be first to say Zachary zaba is not one of my goto narrators, but I was pleasantly surprised with this audiobook. He gave each of these characters their own voice. Making you want the rest of the series made to audiobooks as well. He made them more real and just all the more fun. Cannot waits to see what he does with the remainder of the series.

Two paths cross once again on the start of the remarkable journey of the Black Cat Circus. We meet Drake, the daredevil, a man with no fears, never planned on returning to his hometown. Elijah, who never planned to leave and always wanted to hide in the shadows, ran into each other, and fate entwined them from that moment on.
The Black Cat Circus is a series of outcasts that make their own family of acceptance and love. Each man finds their mate along this journey of low angst stories to fill your heart with happiness and hope. I'm just kicking myself for not trying these books sooner.

The circus is always fantastic!

Zachary did a fantastic job narrating this fun, hot story. This is the beginning of the Black Cat Circus series and the entire series was so good in book form and having it in audio just takes it to the next level.
