not as good as the others in this series. not as much action or realistic history

Father Dominic ensnared in science fiction

This is my least favorite Secret Archive book. It was mired in "Will the asteroid hit us? Can a centuries-old gizmo save us?" I'm a huge fan of the series, but this one was a miss for me.

A Thriller at the Intersection of Faith, Power, and Science

This 8th installment of the series is a compelling read that successfully marries historical authenticity with imaginative storytelling. I would recommend it, but all the series books, to readers who appreciate thrillers that challenge the boundaries between fact and fiction, if you enjoy those reads, this novel offers a rewarding experience.
Highlights are:
1. A bold, yet believable plot through the integration of the fictional story line with well researched and accurately used historical facts.
2. Rich character development including the main character of Father Michael Dominic. He grows throughout this book proving to be a highly ethical, morally grounded man and priest.
3. An exploration of ethical dilemmas that go well beyond the action-packed sequences. The novel really delves deeply into several profound questions about the intersection of faith, science, and power. This gives us, the reader not only a well written story, but challenges us with questions that will make us think long after the we complete the novel.

Excellent Pacing and Story

There was never a dull moment. Lots of subterfuge and excitement. I constantly would say out loud, "Oh, no!" And the raw emotions evoked by the actions were palpable. Highly recommended conclusion to the series!

I have listened to a handful of this collection. I tried to give the authors style a chance

But this is the worst - plots in each have gotten weaker and weaker. The writing is so cumbersome and trying to be intelligent that it simply becomes annoying.

absurd plot

I certainly like creative writing but this plot is absurd and there is no chemistry amongst the main characters as in the previous books. I can't recommend this one.

worst in the seriew

I love the series but this book is so off point I doubt the actual author wrote this, not worth it at all, disjointed and absurd, story jumps so much I thought I missed chapters

Lazy writing

I have loved all of the other books in this series, but unfortunately not this one. The writing was really lazy and the plot didn’t make sense at all.
